The 1996 Royal Rumble was historic for a number of reasons.

The man who would go on to win the Rumble -- Shawn Michaels -- was competing in his first match back in the WWE, after collapsing on an episode of RAW in October 1995, during a bout with post-concussion syndrome. Michaels took full advantage of his return, becoming just the second man to win back-to-back Rumble matches.
