Overall the film was enjoyable, but I found it a bit slow, and found that the plot didn't really arrive at a conclusion. Loin is also filmed in the jittery camera style, which since I was sitting close to the screen gave me a head-ache. The love story between Sara and Serge was well portrayed though. It is not a standard love story, which is what provides its strength: Serge has many weaknesses, and the fact that they love each other nonetheless creates a strong psychological/human/emotional situation.

French cinema is without a doubt one of the greatest filmmakers in the world, and this one is a very good representation of it.
The cinematography is splendid and the editing as well. The actors all do an astounding job and the writing is very clever and non-conventional, as befitting the nation.
I could definitely recommend this to any lover of film, and the movies of France. It is so well put together and important in its dramatic writing and the well told story.
It is without a doubt a testament to the genius of this director, and, with his other works in consideration, yet another addition to the powerful french cinema.
