Sandra Itzel, born on 31 December 1993 in Mexico City, Mexico, is a versatile Mexican actress and singer. Her journey into the entertainment world began at the tender age of five, showcasing her innate talent early on.

She debuted in 1997 with the Mexican telenovela El privilegio de amar, where she portrayed the character of Dulce. Two years later, Sandra joined the prestigious Centro de Educación Artística (Cea) of Televisa. Within two months, she secured a role in the telenovela Carita de ángel, playing the memorable character Chabelita Pérez. This marked the beginning of a promising career in television.

Career Milestones Breakthrough Roles

Sandra’s first major breakthrough came with her role as Mayrita Ríos in the Univision telenovela Gata salvaje (2002–2003). Her heartfelt performance as a sweet girl longing for her mother’s love garnered widespread recognition. Following this, she appeared in the 2004 telenovela Ángel rebelde, further solidifying her reputation as a talented actress.

Silvia Pinal, an actress in Mexico’s Golden Age of cinema, has died. She was 93.

Pinal had been hospitalized earlier this month for a urinary tract infection. Mexico’s Secretary of Culture confirmed Pinal’s death.

“The Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico regrets the passing of leading actress Silvia Pinal,” read the statement posted on X. “With a career spanning more than six decades, she participated in more than 60 films and plays. Her legacy lives on as a fundamental pillar of cinema, theater and television in Mexico. May she rest in peace.”

Pinal was born in Guaymas, Sonora, México on September 12, 1931. She studied acting at the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature. Pinal’s acting debut was in 1949 with the comedy Dos pesos la dejada.

Eiza González is mourning the loss of Nicandro Díaz, a TelevisaUnivision producer who gave the 3 Body Problem star an opportunity early on in her acting career.

“I am devastated with the news about Nicandro,” González posted on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. “You are light, I always spent hours laughing with you. My family and I love you very much and we are eternally grateful.”

She continued, “You changed the course of my life and I will always be indebted to you. My deepest condolences to your beautiful family. I adore you Nicandro, we will always miss you. Your favorite lobuki.”

“This is a very sad morning, Xavier Lopez Chabelo, father, brother and husband has left us suddenly due to abdominal complications,” read a message on his official Twitter feed.

López was best known for hosting the long-running children’s Sunday variety show En Familia con Chabelo. The Televisa show made its debut in 1967 and ran for 48 years, ending its run in 2015.

Mexican president, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who shares a last name with the television host but has no relation, took to social media to express his condolences.
