So I had vivid memory of watching this show when it was on (mostly cuz of the intro and outro), but now that the show is back on The Roku Channel, I thought I would check it out fully and get really into it.
Now over the years, Judge Joe Brown has received a lot of mixed feedback, with people saying he's underrated, he still should be on TV, while others have said he's unprofessional, loud, biased, all that.
Now after watching episodes of his show, I actually am in the middle. Now I don't know much about law and court, but I do agree, Judge Joe does have a tendency to not let defendants speak their case in his courtroom, talk over the parties, and doing the most times. And it would make you think, "How did he even get a court show if he is like this?" But at the same time, that's kinda what made his show entertaining, while if it was the cases, are Brown himself, I honestly think these are the 2 reasons the show lasted almost 15 years on the air. But he does sometimes actually do speak facts in his cases, and dropping knowledge and when it does, it hits the nail on the head.
And honestly, entertainment wise, I'd watch him over Judge Judy everyday (cuz I've tried to watch her and she's kinda too boring for me, like I can only handle her in clips), but seriousness, she is your go-to.
Overall, I think it's a good show (at least entertainment wise), but beware, Judge Joe Brown is not for everyone.

Really great Judge from Memphis TN that did a lot for the people of Shelby Co. I enjoyed watching your show after school!!! I use to tell my mother that Mr Judge Brown was on tv. Very nice to see you on the television also!!!! The show was on air throughout my childhood up until my adulthood. Hate that you show was cancelled. This man will always be The Judge Joe Brown that we all know and love!!!! From seeing your actual courtroom to watching your amazing rulings on television!!!!!! Very great to see a pilar of the community pave the way for so many good people!!!! Great job Judge Joe Brown!!
I like watching "Judge Joe Brown" because it is very entertaining & very worthy of my time. What I like about this show is that this was the very first Court show to have an African American male as the judge. I even like when he puts people in check when they get caught doing horrible things like being trifling, stealing from others, being a horrible example & some other things. I remember watching episodes of this show on my local Fox station which was WBFF Fox 45 & I even seen reruns of this show on Bounce TV. It's really good. I especially like seeing either Jacque Kessler or Jeanne Zelasko reporting the events of what goes on during the cases & I even liked when Rolonda Watts announced for this show especially when she once said "Ooh! Bad Girls you love to hate! Today on "Judge Joe Brown"." I especially like the special episodes of this show which are "Bad Boys", "Bad Girls" & "Man Up". I like that Judge Joe Brown also teaches people how to take accountability for their actions as well as make fair rulings. It's also cool when he makes $50/$100 assessments to those who misbehave in his courtroom. I know that this might also trigger some folks but I happen to think that this show is better than "Death Battle" even though I know that NONE of them relate to each other but it's called having a preference. I also like "Judge Joe Brown" just as much as I like "Divorce Court", "Judge Hatchett", "Judge Mathis", "Judge Alex", "Lauren Lake's Paternity Court" & some others.
The people who rate this show highly (or even say that Joe is more deserving of the NAACP award than Judge Mathis) are disgusting. He doesn't let people finish what they have to say, and he stereotypes black people who grew up in the hood.... Even though he's been through divorce, and has said nasty things about women. You're no better, Joe Brown. Black people who support this black-eyed animal are just as bad as Candace Owens herself!
Don't say #BLM while you're supporting someone like Joe Brown. I wonder how long this show would've lasted if he was a white judge.

Its a good show, Judge Joe Brown is very direct (and very offensive to his litigants) But thats what most of the court shows need in times like these. If you enjoy Judge Joe Brown I also recommend The People's Court.
