I never saw the first Shark Attack...and I only caught this one on TV, but good F**king god, this movie was stupid. There was so much stock footage in this, I'm surprised natianal geographic isn't calling for it's documentary footage back. I feel stupider for watching this sh*t. The CGI sharks were so bad, I felt like i was being treated to a 10 year olds drawing. and hey, SHARKS CAN'T SWIM BACKWARDS! I don't care if they are genetically altered or whatever...they would drown if they did. oh, yeah lets screw the night before we are going on a really deadly mission to kill 6 sharks.

Put those two movies together, and you got Shark Attack 2. Although I did not see the first Shark Attack movie, I seriously doubt I will. Even though the actors seem to do pretty well. The story falls flat on itself, because if you saw Jaws and Deep Blue Sea, well you know what I'm talking about. It's right up there with Jaws:The Revenge. It might has been called Jaws:The Next Generation.
There isn't much good to say about Shark Attack II if you ask me. One of the nicest things you will probably hear me say about this film is: 'Ive seen worse.' which by the way is the absolute truth. But unfortunately having seen worse is not an excuse for poor film-making. The acting, while bad is certainly as abominable in a way that will make you laugh throughout the film. I'll give the filmmakers that, but basically THAT'S IT. That's all the credit I'll give them...plus that they shot some nice shark footage perhaps. When the evil beasts get into action gear it becomes a whole other story though: you can actually see cardboard shark-heads on those occasions...which is really sad. I mean Jaws (30 years ago my friends) had better shark effect than this film, so if you're into watching a shark hunting exercise I suggest you watch that one (again). If you're drawn by the story (yes they pretend to have one) about genetically mutated sharks I suggest you stick to Deep Blue Sea, which has a somewhat similar premise and to be honest, this one could actually have been 'Deep Blue Sea 2: The Ones that got away'. What really kills this film in the end though are the roaring sharks...come on people this isn't 'Godzilla takes a dive' this is a shark film and sharks don't roar...they bite...and so does this film.

It's hard to believe that the first "Shark Attack" movie was popular enough to justify making this sequel. It's also hard to believe that this sequel was popular enough to justify making a part 3! Anyway, it's nice to see a Nu Image movie filmed in South Africa that's actually set in South Africa (though the credits reveal some of the movie was filmed in Bulgaria.) And a few shots look fairly slick, though there are also some real cheap-looking moments, not just because the movie is filled with an ample amount of stock footage. The movie also rips off several elements from the original "Jaws" movie, even recreating a famous moment using the zoom lens of the camera! But the biggest problem with the movie is that it isn't very exciting or involving. There is a curious casual feeling to much of the movie, much of this coming from the fact the movie runs way too slow for its own good.
For one sharks don't roar and Deep Blue Sea was a lot cooler and this movie ripped Deep Blue Sea. I am not going to give this away but hell it's a good for a $2 rental at a video store and for a party if you want to get a little buzzed and make sick jokes when someone become lunch.
Some might have spoilers but I am going to give an aspect of the first scene in the film the female lead character watches her sister get carried away feet in the mouth. Dinner served but that's all I am giving you. This is one of those movies where it gives sharks a bad name but the at least you don't see the strings.
You don't need to watch Shark Attack One to watch this one but I don't know how this movie came to be or the director misses the injokes. Red Water is much better in how it's made and the plausible elements how they made the shark makes you wonder how they did it.
