Lil Wayne brought the heat, Cardi B was both hilarious and heartwarming and Kevin Costner remembered Whitney Houston at Clive Davis’ annual white-hot pre-Grammy gala, which made its return after three years.

Lil Wayne was energetic onstage, getting audience members out of their seats — from Machine Gun Kelly to Swizz Beatz — with a fiery performance of his hits, including “Lollipop,” “A Milli,” “Uproar,” “John” and more.

“I am here on behalf of Young Money Records. I’d like to thank Mr. Davis for having,” Lil Wayne, holding a microphone in one hand and a joint in the other, said Saturday night at the Beverly Hilton. “If you know anything about me, I love to have fun onstage.”

A lot’s happened in the three years since Clive Davis last hosted his storied Pre-Grammy Gala at the Beverly Hilton. There’s been a global pandemic, which itself led to the event’s in-person cancellation for the past two Grammy seasons prior to Saturday night. We’ve seen changes in presidents and deaths of queens. The years haven’t seemed to have caught up with Davis, however, who at 90 years old still somehow has more stamina at his glitzy party than anyone else in the room.

It was literally a case of the ill will being washed away in a wave of tears when the Big B, Amitabh Bachchan viewed Ram Gopal Varma's latest project The Attacks On 26/11 . The Big B was so profoundly moved by the film and Nana Patekar's performance as top-cop Rakesh Maria that he immediately got in touch with Nana to congratulate him.

A surprise for Nana, since he and the Big B have not exactly been on the best of terms ever since they worked together 13 years ago in Mehul Kumar's Kohram.

And that wasn't all. The Big B, known to be demonstratively lavish about his colleagues' performances, sent a bouquet and hand-written note to Nana.

Says a source very close to the film, "Nana didn't expect this. Bachchan Saab and he hardly share what I'd call great vibes. It goes back to the time they did Kohram together.

Amitabh Bachchan and Nana Patekar will be essaying the same role but in the Hindi and Marathi counterparts respectively. The film is an adaptation of Vv Shirwadkar’s Marathi play Natsamrat

Mahesh Manjrekar (of Viruddh… Family Comes First 2005 fame) who is making a film based on Vv Shirwadkar’s Marathi play Natsamrat has roped in Amitabh Bachchan for the Hindi film and Nana Patekar for the Marathi film. Given the fact that the play is considered a fine piece of work by critics, the adapted film has already created much hype. Sources say that Manjrekar has undertaken immense trouble to obtain the rights for the film.

Manjrekar confirmed, “That’s the only casting that makes sense for this epic work.”

Both the veteran actors have worked together in Kohram (1999).

Mehul Kumar brings a sequel to his 90s blockbuster Krantiveer this time with a brand new cast and fee, but the same essential message of patriotism. The film marks the debut of young talent, in particular leading lady Jahan Bloch who we've seen as a child artist in Krantiveer and Kohram. Along with Jahan are artists Sameer Aftab, Aditya Singh Rajput and Harsh Rajput. The original featured Nana Patekar and Dimple Kapadia in pivotal roles and Jahan Bloch had essayed the role of their daughter as a child artist.
