I seen this tv show and I found it uplifting and real.
They said that Dawsons Creek is like a teens life and I disagree, because i am a teen and I have teenage friends and it doesnt relate to my life at all. But I think that this show is great and its real.
I also like how the characters talk to you.
This show is smart, funny, interesting and most importantly REAL!!!!

I started watching this show from the first episode, and was hooked... it was funny, heart-warming, realistic, and creatively written. The cast was incredibly talented (especially the actors who played the three teenagers), and they really interacted like a true family. The quality shows are becoming more and more rare lately, so it's always a shame when the good ones don't make it!
Mitch and Mary Green are just like any thirty-something California couple, except that they have three high school-aged children. Meghan, a senior, is an A-student with a rebellious nature. Cameron, the middle son, gets suspended from school and has girls sleep over. And Kenny, the youngest son, is totally inexperienced when it comes to the exciting new world of females. They may be dysfunctional, but the Greens are totally lovable. The use of creative camera angles and unusual plot devices helps make this show continually entertaining. "Get Real" is a fun, clever show that will appeal to males and females of all ages.
I remember this show being really funny and well put together. Revealed Anne Hathaway's promise early in her career. Sadly canceled before it could grow an audience.
The aptly titled "Get Real" is just that. A very true reality of the average family today. Okay, maybe not 100% average, but close enough.
When I first started watching mid-season, I was extremely drawn to the relationship between siblings in this show. They get along amazingly, but in a strangely believable way, and every time I watch this show I find myself longing for the same relationship with my own sister. The Green kids mix just the right amount of friendship with fighting, and I love the writers for displaying their rapport with one another so well.
For those of you who have never seen "Get Real", I find it to be very similar to "My So-Called Life", but with many more points of view since this is very much an ensemble cast -- there is truly not any one or two true "main" characters, there's just the whole group of them. And unlike so many other television shows today, "Get Real" has not succumbed to including the token gay best friend or the teen pregnancy that we are all so used to. When they introduce issues into their shows, they do it without calling attention to them. It is already apparent that Kenny's newfound deaf girlfriend will simply be Kenny's girlfriend by the next episode. The writers don't dwell on these things like so many other shows feel the need to do.
All I can say is, this show deserves a long run. Anyone can find themselves in these characters, and I hope that the writing stays at this level for a very long time.
