Shatrughan sinha debuts with a bang, quite literally with bullets flying in every alternate scene..A good block buster hit of 1976..Ablu supported by hamming Premnath, David and a good cameo by Danny denzongpa. This film marks directorial debut of Subhash Ghai and must surely be remembered for providing enough inspiration to a later Amitabh hit -DON! Salim Javed , thank Ghai who gave this hit 2 years earlier ... But here it is Shatrughan Sinha who does a double role , first time as hero. He is tough, with macho voice, a criminal with a heart of Gold who is inducted by IGP, Premnath to impersonate his dead son, Prabahkar because they are look alikes... Good action, Okay music , sharp screenplay and a cute Reena Roy makes this a watchable masala movie in all...

Prabhakar, an honest policeman, is murdered by Din Dayal, a crime lord. Later, Khanna comes across Kalicharan who is Prabhakar's lookalike and recruits him to defeat Din Dayal.

Shatrughan hit the box office running as a hero on this classic Subesh Ghai directed film, and is excellent in the double role, two contrasting characters: one an honest police officer and the other a rascal, who takes the police officer's place when he dies.

The idea of a rascal assuming the place of a murdered police man is very enticing, and you know that Kalicharan - the rogue doppelgänger- has enough anti-hero in him to give Ajit and in his goons some trouble. The action and songs are great - but what makes this even more exciting is Ajit as Dhin Dayal, who oozes sinister and class with that distinctive voice ( he's like the Bollywood Vincent Price) which utters that classic line: "Sara Sheher Mujhe Lion Ke Naam Se Janta Hai."

Danny And Reena Roy also star, and do fantastically, adding to this classic action that made Shatrughan Sinha a big star. Definitely one of his best films.

Shatrughan Sinha and Ajit makes this movie super entertainer...super dialogues,beautiful songs and great screenplay..plus mind blowing background music keeps u hooked..you can have it worth watch again n again.

Lovely film to watch, brilliant directorial debut by subhash ghai & superb performance by shatrughan sinha & ajit saheb, music was excellent by kalyanji anandji , overall beautifully written by subhash ghai saheb & its a complete thriller & family drama to watch.
