This drama is made by most prominent and popular writer in Bangladesh, in the people of Bengali language, Humayun Ahmed. Most of his, including this, writings based on the life of middle-class, big families. Eishob Dinratri has 59 episodes which show us the daily life of a middle class family of Mr. Shafiq (Bulbul Ahmed). We see many ups and downs, sorrows and happiness, smiles, laughs and weeps, and finally births and deaths. In the contemporary time, the drama was telecast on 1985, the people of that time, especially the people of Dhaka and whoever have television in their home, never miss an episode. The streets became almost empty. Those people even make area based procession for the 6-7 yaers old "Tuni". The character "Kabir Mama" and his dream project "Shukhi Nilgonjo". The tout "Sadek Ali". Abul Hayat as "Dulabhai", a wanderer, calm in nature but determined person. And many other characters which are the major ones. This drama is unforgettable for those who watched from introduction to end, from the first episode to the last. In fine, this drama is based on the struggles of the middle class families in Dhaka.

This is truly one of the best dramas ever created in Bangladesh. Humayun Ahmed tells the touching story of a middle class Bangladeshi family in the 1980s.

This serial is full of legendary actors from Bangladesh, with stars such as the late Abul Khayer, Bulbul Ahmed etc. giving one of their finest performances. Others such as Dolly Zahur, Dilara Zaman, Asaduzzaman Nur also leave a lasting impression on the viewers. The direction is impeccable. If you overlook the obvious budgetary constraints of BTV dramas of that era you can't really find out any fault of this production.

The story is so touching that even the most serious of viewers is going to shed a tear or two after the last episode. When this show originally aired during 1985-86, the busy streets of Dhaka used to become completely empty during its show time. Almost all the people in Dhaka who had access to TVs followed this show. Most memorable show in Bangladesh's history. A true classic.

The closest translation of the title should be "All these days and nights". But for the people who speak Bangla, the Bangla title is closer-to-heart than the translation. The TV series is about a middle class joint family living in capital city Dhaka. The family members lead their lives through troubles, happiness, love, marriage, death, like an ordinary family in Bangladesh. However, in this TV serial, this ordinary life touches our heart, because of delicate acting, poetic screenplay and excellent composition of music. The story is written by one of the most successful novelist of modern Bangla literature "Humayun Ahmed" and he should get the most applauds. It's a story of a family consists of every familial members, their relationships, newcomers, births, deaths etc. One of the most touching dramas ever made. Humayun Ahmed is a true genius, who knows what is the middle-class livelihood. 56 Episodes may be. I can't remember the exact number. When it was telecast on BTV, on the 85's may be. Before my birth. I complete it on YouTube recently and becomes very emotional at the end of the series. Recommended 100%.
