A classic porn film of the mid-eighties is the VCA release "Passage Thru Pamela" (1985), starring Kimberly Carson, Sharon Kane, Barbie Dahl, Sheer Delight, Joey Santini, and introducing Pamela. Seven years before "The Crying Game", this was the story of a beauty pageant winner from Argentina (Pamela), who signs a contract with a NY based modeling agency. Pamela turns out to be a pre-op transsexual. She came to NY to earn money for a sex-change operation. At a time when many transsexuals were unappealing or grotesque, Pamela was both pretty and believable as a female; her un-tweezed eyebrows and high cheekbones remind me of Polish actress Joanna Pacula. Her English was hard to understand, though I thought it added to her charm. "Passage Thru Pamela" earned its classic status because it was well made, good photography, believable dialog, good music soundtrack, and its enigmatic star "Pamela". At the end of this movie, it is announced that Pamela had a sex change operation in real life, and would soon be appearing in "Passage Thru Pamela II". Never happened, and PTP was touted as "the only film appearance" of Pamela. From time to time, the question has been raised about any other film appearances by Pamela. The answer is YES. There was another VCA 1985 release that included Pamela. I became aware of it a few years ago, but it had been unobtainable till recently. The title of this "lost" Pamela film is "The Girl Busters". It appears to have been made around the same time as PTP, if not before. It stars Barbie Dahl, Sheer Delight, Joey Santini, all of whom appeared in PTP. Again, "introducing Pamela"!! The director was J. Angel Martini, the executive producer of PTP. The plot: Barbie Dahl (who played the brown haired hooker in PTP) has placed an ad for a new roommate that her mother will approve of. First response to her ad is a group of masked men who barge into her apartment and gang-rape her. Next a man, then a couple, respond (and have sex with Barbie; they are rejected as unsuitable. Last responder is a Colombian exchange student named Elena or Alana. It's Pamela but playing a different character, with a different look. Instead of her own light brown hair, she is wearing what looks to be one of Karen Dior's cast off red wigs. Her English is as poor as ever, and she only has 2 or 3 lines. Barbie and Pamela exchange pleasantries, then retire to her bedroom to see what they can "exchange". In a scene that is very, very similar to the PTP scene with Pamela and Sharon Kane, Barbie undresses Pamela, discovers her "secret", and without any apparent suprise, gives Pammie oral pleasure. There are clear closeups of Pamela's organ, and it is obviously real.. Barbie then wakes up, realizes it was all a dream, then answers the doorbell. It is the masked men again! (The Girl Busters?). The first scene is partially repeated, then fade to black, The End. In comparison to the classic PTP, this "lost" Pamela film fares poorly. While PTP had good production values, and direction, "Girl Busters" was produced on videotape, poorly directed, no music at all. The scenes were not really appealing, particularly the first scene, which was basically a home-invasion and rape. I believe that first scene is the reason why this video is seldom seen - it is unpleasant, and could have had legal repercussions. Pamela's scene is the only one that interested me. It began about 55 minutes or so into the video. The intrigue re this scene is that is seems to be a "rough draft" of the Sharon Kane/Pamela scene in PTP that won some kind of award. The moves are very similar (Pam licks her upper arms), except for Barbie's total lack of suprise at Pamela's secret, and that Pammie doesn't have intercourse with Barbie. It is a bit jarring to see Pamela in the phony red haired wig. I don't know if the light brown page-boy in PTP is her real hair; it certainly looked so, unlike the fright wig. Her make up is a bit heavy handed, as compared to PTP, where it seemed just right. She wears underwear similar to what she wore in PTP, except that she hides the noticeable breast enhancement scars that were prominent in the "Passage". The transsexual who played Pamela in PTP has long intrigued me. She made an impression in her (second) debut film, then disappeared from the industry. I've made numerous searches through the net to find any background on Pamela - what happened to her, etc. Nothing. Just adds to her allure. I can't recommend "Girl Busters", even if you could find it. A very poor, unerotic release from VCA, the complete opposite of Passage Thru Pamela. The one positive: the "lost" debut of the enigmatic Pamela. The only scene that I watched more than once. So, for those who wonder if Pamela made any other film appearances, the answer is YES - "Girl Busters" (1985) VCA/Classix, Pamela as "Alana" a Colombian exchange student. One scene, Barbie Dahl/Pamela, a weak precursor to the hot Sharon Kane/Pamela scene in PTP.
