In a galactic future where humans have taken over several star systems the legendary hero called Machineman arises to defeat the "Tentacle", an evil organization who wishes to eliminate all children in the world.

Nick, together with his ball-shaped robot "Ball Boy", travel to Earth on board a spaceship called "Space Colony" as part of his dissertation work. As a human being, he is called Ken Takase, and he meets Maki Hayama, a photographer of the Shukan Hit newspaper. Later, Takahashi saves her from the fall of a building. Maki was shooting a story about the building that was razed mysteriously. Next, she and Ken discover "Tentacle" is the bad organization is responsible for the demolitions and all other evil things around the world. Finally, Nick decides to stay on Earth and use his advanced technologies and superpowers to protect Maki and the children of Earth as Machineman, the superhero that is clad in red- and yellow- colored suit. His possession of advanced weapon systems enables him to combat Tentacles's cyborgs and guard the human race.

In their relentless pursuit of understanding human behavior, the saga of Nick and his steadfast robotic companion, Ball Boy, commenced amidst the vast expanse of the cosmos aboard the illustrious "Space Colony." Renamed Ken Takase, Nick's path intersected with that of the intrepid photographer delving into the enigmatic phenomena of inexplicable building demolitions: Maki Hayama. The fateful encounter unfolded a web of mystery, revealing the evil conspiracies of the secret "Tentacle" group.

Determined by his never-ending resolve to protect Maki and humanity as a whole, Nick decided to stay on Earth, taking the role of Machineman whose outfit is a splendid combination of red and yellow colors. Equipped with the latest technology, Machineman heroically engaged in combat with the minions of Tentacle, undaunted in his quest to prevent perils and to safeguard the human heritage.

However, the defeat of Tentacle was merely a prelude to more severe challenges. Machineman got trapped in the deadly duel with Lady M, the niece of Professor K, their associate, Tonchinkan, who also called himself "Octopus" and released the troop of drones to help him in winning Machineman over.

Unwavering in his belief, Machineman became an unyielding barrier against the creeping darkness. However, the return of Professor K heralded the emergence of the most formidable adversary yet: Golden Monsu. Machineman faces the enemy of the human race with all the strength and bravery he can summon, overcoming the ordeal of the ultimate test, and sealing the deal for a brighter dawn.
