Alan Thicke has passed away and this was not the best talk show but that is compared to large budget, successful, famous US late night shows. Alan Thicke's show was very cheap and small by comparison. He might not have been as smooth or funny and witty in the moment but he was very suave, gentlemanly and likable, and slick in a non slimy way, especially when he was doing interviews. He'll be missed. Too bad he didn't have more effort or money behind him when doing this show.
Rest in Peace, Alan Thicke. I liked him a lot and he just seemed like a nice guy and sweet but this talk show was not his best work. Not blaming him for that. He was a legend and a giant.
This wasn't a great talk show and Alan Thicke was pretty awkward. In a way this would kind of be like Canada's version of The Chevy Chase Show except in Canada there is at least the excuse of no money to fall back on. Alan Thicke is kind of smarmy and not great at doing witty banter, in the moment comedy, or entertaining interviews with people, but he was a likable guy who deserved a better show than this.
Alan Thicke was a likable guy. Sure this talk show wasn't the best and is kind of ragged on now but I liked him. RIP Alan Thicke, a sitcom giant from Canada!
