The 'Amy Hathaway' character "Alison", who inexplicably weeps during sex in the film, was based on 'Derick Martini's' ex-girlfriend. The ex-girlfriend showed up at a New York promotional screening and ran out of the theatre crying before the first reel ended.
Derick Martini met actress 'Amy Hathaway' on the film and began a relationship that lasted five years.
Steven Martini who is also a musician, wrote and performed the song "Curdory Penis" which plays over the closing credits of the film.
Once cast in the film, actor/musician 'Bill Henderson' inspired the Martinis to write a larger part for him
Roger Ebert invited Derick and Steven Martini to show the film at his 2000 "Floating Film Festival" which takes place on a cruise ship. When informed they'd have to share a small cabin with Jeff Dowd and 'Harry Knowles', the Martini's passed. Ebert was joking, of course, and the film and the Martinis showed up on the cruise.
