What’s New on Paramount+ in September 2025
Image
Paramount+ is heading into the fall season by bringing TV watchers a whole new round of TV shows and films.

Our hearts were ringin’ in the key that our souls were singin’ for these new titles that are dropping on the streamer this September, just like Earth, Wind and Fire said. And if you love the group, you’ll have to check out the the TV special “A Grammy Salute to Earth, Wind & Fire Live: The 21st Night of September,” which drops on Sept. 21.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves, because they are some absolute goodies that are landing at the top of the month that you’ll...

Ridley Scott gives a short—yet promising—update on third Alien prequel
Image
Both the Alien and Predator franchises are arguably in better places than they’ve been in decades, with the Predator franchise gearing up to release Predator: Badlands in theaters this November, and with Alien: Earth currently airing.

Due to this recent success, Ridley Scott was recently asked by The Guardian if he would like to still make a third Alien prequel—along with another Gladiator—and he kept his answer short and to the point. “If I get an idea, for sure,” he stated.

The thing is, he does have an idea. Before the Disney acquisition, Scott and his team were prepping the third prequel, then tentatively titled Alien: Awakening,...

One Alien: Earth Spaceship Could Foreshadow The Future Of The Series
Image
Spoilers ahead for the latest episode of "Alien: Earth."

Noah Hawley's "Alien: Earth" is remarkable for several reasons, one of which is that it doesn't seem (so far) to be all that concerned with being a prequel to the "Alien" movie franchise. To be sure, it's not attempting to stray all that far away, either; set two years before "Alien," the series is clearly attempting to have its visual aesthetic stick closely to Ridley Scott's 1979 film. Nowhere is this more apparent than the production design of the Uscss Maginot, the ship whose doomed mission and crash landing on Earth kicks off the action in the show. While Hawley...

Helldivers 2 Major Order Status on August 27, 2025
Image
August 28 brings Helldivers 2‘s triple Major Order chaos into its most interesting phase yet. Kill counts are actually climbing fast enough to matter, but watching dozens of planets get hammered while we rack up elimination numbers feels bizarre.

High Command promised these massive kill quotas would stop the attacks. We’re about to find out if they were lying or just desperately hopeful:

Kill the designated number of Terminids to stop their onslaught. Dismantle the designated number of Automatons to stop their advance. Eradicate the designated Illuminate combatants.

Xbox reinforcements have changed everything. What looked impossible a week ago now feels genuinely doable, though nobody’s quite sure what happens when we hit these targets,...

5 ways the Avatar films draw on ancient myths and beliefs
Image
James Cameron’s Avatar films bring an imaginary world to life with breathtaking colors, visuals, and unique storytelling. A closer look, however, reveals that parts of Pandora’s dazzling realm are layered over tales connected to ancient mythology and lore.

Some of these mythological themes are Eywa as Gaia/Mother Earth, the Tree of Souls and the Tree of Life, the hero’s journey, stewarding nature, and taming mythic beasts.

With Avatar: Fire and Ash set for release in December 2025, now is a good time to reflect on why the Avatar films have such an impact: They carry themes that are both fresh and familiar. Here are five ways Avatar...

Alien: Earth Picks Up Where A Deleted Line From The Original Movie Left Off
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

Spoilers follow.

Since the release of "Prometheus" in 2012, the "Alien" franchise has been lingering on the prequel side of the story, with the aforementioned film as well as "Alien: Covenant" and "Alien: Romulus" taking place before or just after the original "Alien." Yet this doesn't mean that the films have been content with merely rehashing concepts seen in the earlier movies, nor have they spent any time setting up characters and/or plot points to be developed in the stories that are set in their future. Instead, these prequels have continued the unspoken creative mandate established by the original four...

The Summer Hikaru Died Delays Episode 9 Release Date
Image
Spoilers for The Summer Hikaru Died Episode #8

Netflix’s hit horror anime The Summer Hikaru Died is taking a brief pause in its broadcast and streaming schedule. While the series has steadily built momentum with strong audience reception and an 81% IMDb rating, its run is set to skip August 30 with episode 9 airing on September 9.

This one-week delay stems from Nippon TV’s annual “24-Hour Television: Love Saves the Earth” telethon, which will occupy programming on both August 30 and August 31. The long-standing event, which began in 1978 on Nippon TV’s 25th anniversary, temporarily takes priority over regular broadcasts. Once concluded, The Summer Hikaru Died will be able to resume as scheduled.

When Will Smith Reflected On Heartbreak As A Father After Jaden’s Emancipation Request Following After Earth Flop: ‘He Felt Misled & Lost His Trust.’

Will Smith reflects on his heartbreak as a father after Jaden’s emancipation request (Photo Credit – Instagram)

Will Smith’s blockbuster-filled career may look like an endless highlight reel, but one flop left him devastated—not for himself, but for his son, Jaden. In his memoir, Will, the King Richard star opens up about a painful chapter from 2013 when he and Jaden took a chance with After Earth.

The After Earth Fallout: Will and Jaden Smith’s Toughest Challenge

After Earth wasn’t just a box-office bomb; it shook Will and Jaden Smith’s bond to the core. The father-son duo hoped to deliver sci-fi magic, but critics—and audiences—were unimpressed. Instead of a cinematic triumph, they faced one of Hollywood’s harshest flops, forever altering their on-screen dreams. To add salt to the wound, Jaden—just 15 at the time—was receiving harsh media and fan backlash. “Fans and...

How Much Did Disney Buy Marvel For? Here’s What We Know
Image
How Much Did Disney Invest To Acquire Marvel For? (Photo Credit – Prime Video)

Before superheroes dominated the global box office, Marvel’s characters existed mainly on the comic book page and in sporadic TV or film adaptations with varying degrees of success. While iconic names like Spider-Man, X-Men, and Captain America had passionate fan bases, the larger Marvel brand lacked a consistent cinematic presence and cohesive vision on screen.

The late 1990s and early 2000s saw the company navigate a turbulent financial period, licensing characters to multiple studios in order to survive. After the first Iron Man film debuted in 2008, it was clear that Marvel had stumbled onto a formula that could rival any major Hollywood franchise. The concept of an interconnected universe of films quickly became a defining element of modern cinema.

Studios and audiences alike began to see Marvel’s roster not as scattered properties, but as part of a vast,...

5 Best Sibling Pairs In The MCU: From Natasha & Yelena To Thor & Loki
Image
MCU’s Top 5 Sibling Pairs (Photo Credit – Instagram/YouTube)

The life of a superhero isn’t always glamorous. Beneath the mask and beyond the powers, there’s often loneliness. Superheroes can feel isolated with a secret identity to protect and burdens too heavy to share. But for some, there’s one person always constant, their sibling. In the MCU, these sibling relationships add a deeply emotional layer to the stories. These siblings might face off as enemies one moment, only to fight side by side the next. Their bond is not perfect, but it’s real and raw, shaped by the chaos they navigate.

From mischievous gods to fierce warriors, the sibling duos in the MCU are among the franchise’s most compelling characters. They bring sharp, sometimes hilarious banter, but also moments of profound heartbreak and sacrifice. They may clash on a battlefield, but the strength of their bond is always undeniable,...

Helldivers 2 Major Order Update Today
Image
The Helldivers 2 Major Order (Mo) situation on August 9 has turned into a masterclass in community coordination failures, with Super Earth’s finest split between multiple objectives while precious time ticks away.

The current directive remains frustratingly simple on paper but nightmarish in execution:

Liberate the Nanos Sector, and destroy Automaton Conscripts with the Railcannon Stratagem to further secure New Aspiration City.

Four planets need liberation: Dolph, Duma Tyr, Bekvam III, and Julheim, plus the newly added Charbal-vii (courtesy of the latest Strategic Opportunity).

The community also faces the infamous 2.5 million Automaton Trooper elimination task using Orbital Railcannon Strikes. With just over three days remaining, things look grim for managed democracy.

State of the Warfront

The current battlefield situation shows classic Helldiver patterns: blazing efficiency on straightforward objectives paired with predictable struggles on the mathematically absurd ones:

Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 20 Update! ( Photo Credit – Instagram )

Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda led Saiyaara has slowed down amid the domination of Mahavatar Narsimha in the Hindi belt. The romantic musical drama is about to conclude its third week on a good note. It could achieve a never-before-seen feat for a debut film in the next 10 days, but if it withstands the War 2 storm. Scroll below for a detailed box office update!

Saiyaara Box Office Collection Day 20

The box office battle is intense, and while some are shining bright, others are dwindling. As mentioned before, Mahavatar Narsimha is the #1 audience choice. However, Saiyaara is giving other releases like Dhadak 2 and Son Of Sardaar 2 a run for their money. On day 20, Mohit Suri’s directorial earned an estimated 1.88 crores.

The overall net collection in India concludes around 312.53 crores. Saiyaara is made on a reported budget of 45 crores.

For reasons yet unknown, the makers are not releasing the official collection. However, as per early estimates, Son Of Sardaar 2 earned 1.70 crores on day 6. It witnessed a 39% drop after the discounted Tuesday, which brought 2.80 crores.

The India net collection of Son Of Sardaar 2 surged to 31.65 crores after 6 days. Including taxes, the gross total comes to 37.34 crores. Bollywood films like Bhool Chuk Maaf, Kesari Chapter 2, and Jaat, among others, earned much higher collections in...

Dave Nemetz Reviews Alien: Earth: FX’s Cerebral, Visceral Sci-Fi Thriller Pairs Big Scares With Big Ideas
Image
At first, the idea of bringing the Alien franchise to TV sounds about as dumb as getting into an elevator with a hungry xenomorph. But if anyone could translate Alien’s cinematic thrills for the small screen, it’d be Noah Hawley, who’s previously worked his magic adapting Fargo and Marvel’s Legion for FX. And he hits paydirt again with Alien: Earth — debuting Tuesday, Aug. 12 on FX and Hulu; I’ve seen the first six episodes — spinning a fresh story that combines genuinely terrifying alien attacks straight out of your nightmares with provocative meditations on what it means to be human.

A new Spider-Man movie is in development at Sony (and it might be the coolest one yet)
Image
It looks like there are more Spider-Man animated projects coming with one in particular destined to thrill fans!

While the Marvel Cinematic Universe Spider-Man movies have been successful, it’s in animation that the wall-crawler has really taken off. Into the Spider-Verse was a smash hit in 2018, with the film ultimately winning the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. It introduced Miles Morales, the Spider-Man of another Earth, who becomes part of an adventure with multiple Spider champions.

That included Spider-Gwen/Ghost Spider (Hailee Steinfeld) and Spider-Noir (Nicholas Cage). It was followed by the 2023 sequel Across the Spider-Verse, which ended on a big cliffhanger. That’s set to conclude in Beyond the Spider-Verse, which has hit several delays and is scheduled for release sometime in 2027.

However, just like the MCU, Sony is preparing to expand the Spider-Verse franchise. There’s already the live-action Spider-Noir series with Cage reprising his role,...

Alien: Earth: Everything You Need To Remember To Watch The New Show
Image
On Hulu, nobody can hear you stream. To anyone still reading this article after an opening like that: Congrats on passing the test to prove just how big of an "Alien" fan you really are. The space-set horror franchise has exclusively resided on the big screen ever since Ridley Scott debuted his original film back in 1979, but all that is set to change with the arrival of "Alien: Earth." Not only is the property switching mediums for the first time ever here, but it's also adding a fresh new creative voice to the fray, with Noah Hawley taking the reins on what promises to be one of the wildest additions to the "Alien" canon yet.

The release of this show, however, raises a pressing question for all the "Alien" viewers out there. The original quartet of movies exclusively followed the trajectory of Sigourney Weaver's Ellen Ripley (or her clone...

Spider-Punk Movie In Development At Sony Pictures Animation With Daniel Kaluuya On Board
Image
Joaquim Dos Santos, Kemp Powers, and Justin K. Thompson's Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse gave us a great many things: a sprawling tale of becoming and belonging; not one but five visually distinct, eye-poppingly animated new worlds; and enough new Spider-People to fill a whole damn Spider Society. But of all the new things the Into The Spider-Verse sequel gave us, Daniel Kaluuya's electrifying anarchist Hobie Brown — aka Spider-Punk — may well be the greatest. And clearly the folks at Sony Pictures Animation agree, as Deadline are reporting that the studio is in early development on a solo Spider-Punk animated feature.

Set to be co-written by Kaluuya alongside Ajon Singh, whose sole screenwriting credit to date is upcoming Robert Pattinson A24 joint Primetime, precious little is known about what Spider-Punk's first headline gig will entail. In fact, although we would absolutely presume Kaluuya will be back to voice Earth-138B's swaggering,...

Arrowverse Star Calls Out 'Bad Behavior' From Co-Stars on Set: 'It Was Hard'
Image
In 2023, the Arrowverse officially came to an end with the series finale of The Flash. Two years later, The Flash star Danielle Panabaker is ready to talk about her time playing in the DC sandbox.

Panabaker recently appeared on the Inside of You podcast, which is hosted by Michael Rosenbaum, who appeared in the Arrowverse-adjacent DC series Smallville as Lex Luthor and knows firsthand what it is like to be part of a long-running series inspired by a popular comic book character. During the hour-long conversation, Panabaker opened up about how she felt like some of her co-stars, whom she kept anonymous, were treated better than her despite constantly showing bad behavior on set.

"Because I really pride myself on being punctual and prepared and knowing my lines and doing my best and not everyone works that way. And it's hard. It was hard for me when I felt like bad behavior was being rewarded,...

Alien: Earth review: The TV series lands on scale, stakes, and surprising new ideas
Image
The Alien franchise has always been deceptively auteur-driven. For as much as it is undeniably a monumental work of science fiction that has been franchised across the decades and turned into an established intellectual property in its own right, each installment has been singularly driven by the inspirations, aspirations, and ambitions of its own respective filmmaker.

The original 1979 film, Alien, is full of the kinds of heady themes and thoughtful craft that would come to define Ridley Scott’s work over the ensuing years. The 1986 sequel, Aliens, is about as James Cameron as a film can possibly be, full of bombastic military action and raucously satisfying storytelling. Even Alien 3, whose production has been publicly bemoaned by its director for decades now, is a potent encapsulation of the kinds of somber and harrowing tales of morality that David Fincher has made a career out of crafting.

More recently, Scott returned...

Alien: Earth’s Sydney Chandler Had Nightmares About The Xenomorph
Image
Sydney Chandler probably didn’t expect a career in acting to involve running from a nightmare she’s had since childhood. But that’s exactly what happened on the set of Alien: Earth, FX’s first live-action Alien TV series. Playing Wendy, a synthetic-human hybrid loosely based on the character from Peter Pan, Chandler finds herself face-to-face with a Xenomorph. Only this time, it’s not haunting her dreams, it’s chasing her down a corridor. “I saw this movie also at too young of an age,” she admitted during an Alien: Earth press conference. “And the Xenomorph visited me in my nightmares many a time. So, it was a full-circle moment to be chased by a real Xeno instead of just dreaming about it.” She even gave a shout-out to Cameron Brown, the actor who brings the alien menace to life: “Cam was so wonderful… He should be here.

Roush Review: ‘Alien’ Comes Down to Earth in a Thrilling Series
Image
Ever since the first Alien movie in 1979, we’ve been told that in space, no one can hear you scream. But that doesn’t apply to the living room, and I expect there will be many howls of delighted fright echoing across America as FX’s spectacular and terrifying Alien: Earth brings the nerve-wracking franchise to the home screen. At their best, the Alien movies set the standard for suspenseful science fiction laced with classic monster-movie horror. Earth, created by Fargo‘s brilliant Noah Hawley, honors that tradition with imagination, intelligence, impressively epic style, and a devilish taste for graphically gruesome ick that recalls John Carpenter‘s iconic 1982 The Thing. The premise, while familiar, is blissfully simple: A spaceship, the Maginot, crash-lands on Earth in 2120 with a lab full of creepy specimens, and at least one fully grown Xenomorph (...

Alien: Earth Review — Epic Sci-Fi Horror Show Takes Franchise in Exciting New Directions
Image
Noah Hawley’s Alien: Earth has been in development for a long time — so long, in fact, that another theatrical film was developed and released before the show even came out. However, just as Hawley infused fresh air into other IPs, he does so with Alien: Earth, delivering a thrilling yet thoughtful blend of sci-fi and horror that was well worth the wait.

Alien: Earth Review

Alien: Earth is a prequel to the original film, set on Earth (as the title implies), as a space vessel containing monstrous cargo crash lands, setting off a fight between dueling companies to gain control over the specimens it contains. Although the concept of bringing this typically space-based concept to Earth may seem like a risky endeavor, it actually allows Hawley to enrich the world in compelling ways.

Why This 87-Year-Old Icon Might Be the Perfect Director for the Helldivers Movie
Image
There’s one 87-year-old legend who might be the perfect fit for the upcoming Helldivers 2 movie: Paul Verhoeven. While details about the adaptation are still unknown and no director has been confirmed, Verhoeven feels like a match made in heaven.

The legendary Dutch filmmaker is known for his mastery over satire and violence, both of which perfectly define what Helldivers 2 is all about.

To top it off, Verhoeven directed Starship Troopers, the movie that influenced the Helldivers franchise. So, he might be able to perfectly introduce the game’s chaotic world into an unforgettable cinematic experience. If Sony hasn’t already picked their director, he’s the perfect choice.

Helldivers 2 Needs Arrowhead’s 60 Day Initiative to Return in 2025
Image
In 2024, Arrowhead pulled off a remarkable turnaround for Helldivers 2 by launching a 60-day plan initiative, and it needs to return again. Less than a year later, the game is facing critical issues again, this time not due to weapon imbalance but because of widespread crashes, glitchy AI, and a worsening bug stack.

With the Xbox launch on August 26, the need for another 60-day plan is more urgent than ever. Neither Helldivers nor Arrowhead would want to welcome fresh recruits to Super Earth with game-breaking instability. It’s time once again to put the mantle to the test.

What Was the 60-Day Plan, and Why Helldivers 2 Needs It Again

John Stamos Replaces Ailing Josh Gad As King Herod In ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’ At The Hollywood Bowl
Image
John Stamos is sliding into the golden slippers of King Herod just hours before the curtain comes up on Jesus Christ Superstar at the Hollywood Bowl.

Stamos’ last minute casting comes after Josh Gad announced yesterday that he would no longer occupy the throne on Friday night.

“It is with enormous heartbreak that I inform you all that unfortunately, I have contracted a virus known as Covid (remember that little bastard from season one of ‘Earth really sucks right now’?)” Gad wrote in on Instagram.

Stamos is not just a pretty face. Beyond his acting chops, he’s been a musician for decades, most famously playing with the Beach Boys on a regular basis. He also participated in the Broadway revival of Bye Bye Birdie and played Corny Collins in Hairspray at the Bowl in 2011.

“I am grateful for the chance to step into the gold lamé,” wrote Stamos on Instagram.

Helmet Perks Are Free Real Estate in Helldivers 2, and It’s Time Arrowhead Realizes That
Image
The list of reasons to love Helldivers 2 never ends, but there’s always room for more. We fans are eagerly awaiting the Armor customization option, which appears to be under development. But with the news comes another request that Arrowhead shouldn’t ignore.

Just like armors have their perks, helmets can receive one too. Is it too much to ask? No. Would fans love to have it? Absolutely, yes. The more features we get, the merrier. Furthermore, the addition of a perk system for helmets will shake up the meta. Which in turn would make the gameplay more dynamic than ever.

There’s a lot of room to play around with the helmet perk system. If the Helldivers 2 developers wish, they could proceed with the idea. However, it is questionable whether Arrowhead will implement the feature. Still, if we can get an armor customization, why not hope for this one as well?...

‘Alien: Earth’ on Hulu: Everything We Know So Far
Image
The Alien franchise is all set to break new ground with Alien: Earth, the first live-action TV series set in its iconic xenomorph-bursting universe. It is set two years before the 1979 film, Alien, and takes place on Earth instead of a ship journeying through space. The show will explore a dystopian Earth controlled by mega-corporations where alien threats and synthetic life will collide.

Created by Noah Hawley and executive produced by Ridley Scott, this Hulu and FX original will introduce a new crew to the acid-blood creatures. This show is set to deliver the same seat-gripping horror that audiences have come to expect from the franchise, but with a better exploration of corporate greed, artificial intelligence, and more.

Expect more of what you saw in the opening scenes of the Cailee Spaeny starrer Alien: Romulus, but for multiple episodes and with the titular aliens. The release date is set, and...

Does Fantastic Four: First Steps have a post-credit scene? (A spoiler-free answer)
Image
The Marvel Cinematic Universe is approaching the end of its Multiverse Saga, and everyone knows what that means: An Avengers movie is on the horizon. Earth's Mightiest Heroes will finally assemble after a seven-year hiatus, and expectations couldn't be any higher. The only problem? There hasn't been any build-up towards the impending arrival of Doctor Doom, which feels off considering he should be established as the next big bad to fear. On the bright side, there are still a few places where we might see his debut. Spider-Man: Brand New Day will be released before Avengers: Doomsday, and, of course, we also have The Fantastic Four: First Steps to look forward to.

Fans have waited years to see Marvel's First Family join the MCU, and that day is nearly here. Following the incredible critical success of Thunderbolts*, we're all eager to discover if the upcoming movie will be able to keep the momentum going.

Superman: DC Comics' 10 Strongest Kryptonians, Ranked
Image
It's a bird... it's a plane... it's... James Gunn's "Superman" finally crashing into theaters! After what feels like an eternity in orbit, the long-awaited David Corenswet-led relaunch of the DC Universe is approaching our atmosphere, having poetically escaped the destruction of the doomed world that came before.

As Warner Bros. looks to revive the public image of their biggest source of intellectual property, Gunn has decided to eschew the previous iteration of the Man of Steel's emphasis on god-like power to instead strike a more human tone -- one which is already resonating with audiences. Though this will likely lead to a more moving, character-driven story, some Super-Fans will miss seeing Kryptonians battling it out with unparalleled strength, speed, and invulnerability (at least for now).

Fortunately for us, we still have the comics. DC has thoroughly explored the bounds of Kryptonian strength over the past several decades,...
