    Africa's Elephant Kingdom!

This is a very good Documentary with good narration by Avery Brooks. I think that all of the filming of the wonderful animals is really great. I knew some things about the African Elephant but by watching this video I learned a whole lot more! I did not know how smart Elephants are. One of the things I thought was remarkable was when two males fight for the female they go into a fight and the thing is they actually know that the are going to get hurt or even die in the battle. Another thing is how the Elephants stay together as family. The video clips of the leader Elephant charging when threatened was really awesome! This video in so interesting, sad, great, entertaining, funny, and exciting all at the same time. There is some death in this feature but it is not by man. If you love Elephants and want to see how intelligent these creatures are and the cute as well as the great things they do in the wild then I strongly recommend you watch this today because I don't think you can watch anything more informal!

    Movie Nuttball's NOTE:

I love most animals in the world and I dislike people harming animals and the poachers killing innocent creatures. One day I would like man to be the hunted. This is just how I feel. Thank you for reading!

    Elephants

Decent large format documentary on African elephants. At one point an elephant charges the film crew, which is rather intense. I worked with this at two different 15/70 theatres, about the only complaint was from some parents who felt that said charging scene was too scary for their youngsters.

Was filmed (and is presented) in 2-D, rather than 3-D as the last comment leads one to believe.

How to save the disappearing elephants

How to save the DISAPPEARING World of nature and animals: We depend on nature and animals to survive. Pollution, eating species into extinction and massacre of environment happens on global scale: sacred and very needed by life on Earth trees are being massacred by human predator. Gold mining, illegal tree cutting, illegal ranching in Amazon already destroyed a lot of sacred trees and thus, is destroying animals' environment. Films: "AMAZON with Bruce Perry", "Echo of the Elephants", "The End of the Line (2009)". Most vicious predator (human) must learn to stop destroying its own environment. While most vicious predator propagates with exponential (unbounded) rate, the nature and animals disappear with exponential rate at the hand of most vicious predator. Most vicious predator must stop unbounded (exponential) reproduction: it leaves no space for healthy environment for most vicious predator and leaves no space for animals. CONSUMPTION is not "cool" anymore.

    Kingdom of elephants

This immediately appealed to me prior to watching. Absolutely love nature documentaries (have done ever since seeing 'Planet Earth' and 'The Blue Planet' for the first time when they first aired) and it is always wonderful seeing Africa, a beautiful and fascinating continent. Not to mention its beautifully varied wildlife, familiar and not so familiar. Elephants are among my favourite animals, and have been since childhood watching Disney's 'Dumbo' for the first time. Have seen plenty of IMAX short films and have found much to admire about many.

'Africa's Elephant Kingdom' is definitely one of those documentaries where there is a lot to admire, where criticisms are so few and so many things are outstanding. While not one of the ground breaking or best documentaries on elephants, there is nothing here that is going to make elephant fans change their opinions for the worse. If anything, there will be a higher amount of admiration. 'Africa's Elephant Kingdom' does a great job with its subject and is highly recommended.

My only real issue is that for my tastes it's too short.

Can't fault everything else however. It looks absolutely beautiful with some truly stunning shots and great expansive use of the varied location that is both beautiful and unforgiving. Nothing looks cheap or gimmicky. The music generally isn't overdone in volume and isn't discordant tonally. Avery Brooks is a new name to me and was impressed by the warm, gentle yet enthusiastic narration delivering some very informative, entertaining and not corny, over sentimental or over dramatised narration. Never felt like too much was being said as well.

This reviewer was also in absolute heaven watching the elephants, who were adorable, relatable, very smart and fun to watch. Their struggles are very easy to relate to and makes one think hard about how to stop them from being vulnerable, their life cycles fascinate and their family bonding is cute and touching.

In conclusion, wonderful and a treat for elephant lovers. 9/10.

    Excellent & 3-D

This is a 3D IMAX film which bursts out of the screen in both sight and sound. It only has one human voice/character (Avery Brooks) whom tells the story of the elephants life in Africa. From hardship and drought to life, etc... It is a great film that can only be done justice in IMAX. The 3-D effects add to the experience (rather than detract) and this is recommended.
