This silent 10-minute short from Mexico about a young boy and his efforts to capture a plane's reflection in a water puddle effectively conveys the joys and wonder that one feels as a child. All to often that sheer wonder of life can be jaded by life's harsh realities and one can only hope to go back to that simpler time in life. This is one of the best shorts I've seen for that reason. This short has universal appeal and can be enjoyed by pretty much everyone. From the young to the merely young-at-heart. I'm searching for a copy of the writers' first full length movie "Zurdo" hoping they can recapture the magic that they have shown here.

How delightful to find a truly original story in a short film of only 11 minutes. It's a charming imaginative offering which captures the delights of childhood. One might read into this film a deeper meaning which suggests "the joys of life are fleeting". This Mexican film with no dialogue has universal appeal. The film centres on a young boy's efforts to capture the reflection of a passing plane mirrored in a pool of water. Malcom Vargas who plays the young boy Luis does well in the major role. A first class production and one that demands repeat viewing.
Beautiful and poetic... Just the way cinema should be... It takes you to a place where imagination is fully explored in the creative process. We are all kids trying to grab reflections of our own existence. Nature vs. our modern world. Contrasts and conflict. It's universal and it wonders into solitude and our possibilities. An open opera where the author is not trying to impose the meaning or the sense but takes the audience into account. It's timeless. Certainly one of the best films I've ever seen. When an artist knows the craft and fully achieves something like this beautiful short film it gives us hope about the future. Amazing cinematography, acting, sound and most important... story.
