- Richard 'Dick' Grayson: Thank you, Alfred. I don't know what we would do without you.
- Alfred Pennyworth: Frankly, neither do I.
- Commissioner James 'Jim' Gordon: Come on, people! A guy in a weird suit with two polar bears can't be too hard to spot!
- Barbara Gordon: You don't need to put somebody under for a blood transfusion!
- [pause, realizes]
- Barbara Gordon: It's *more* than that, isn't it?
- Barbara Gordon: How can you treat people this way?
- Dr. Victor Fries: It's the way they've always treated me.
- Dr. Victor Fries: Nora was the only good thing in my life, and they took her from me. I don't care what I have to do to get her back.
- Batgirl: [after saving a woman] Are you alright?
- [helps her up]
- Woman: Mm-hmm.
- [Batgirl looks at her watch, gasps, and runs off]
- Woman: Hey, thanks!
- Dr. Victor Fries: [to Nora inside stasis tank] Fifteen years today, darling. Did you think I would forget? How could I? The day we met was the happiest day of my life.
- [presents a flower]
- Dr. Victor Fries: A gift for you. I found it in the snow. Fragile beauty clinging to life in this frozen wasteland. Like you, Nora.
- Koonak: [walks in Barbara's cell with a tray of food] Dinner.
- Barbara Gordon: Who are you?
- Koonak: My name is Koonak.
- Barbara Gordon: You're just a kid. What are you doing here? Did Freeze kidnap you, too?
- Koonak: No. And I'm not just a kid. I'm 12.
- Barbara Gordon: 12, huh? And very handsome.
- Koonak: You're kind of cute, too, lady.
- [winks at Barbara]
- Barbara Gordon: [teasingly] You sure you're just 12?
- Koonak: 13 next summer.
- Barbara Gordon: So, where are your parents, Koonak?
- Koonak: They're dead
- Barbara Gordon: Oh, I'm sorry.
- Koonak: But Mr. Freeze takes care of me now.
- Barbara Gordon: Freeze? You've got to be kidding.
- Koonak: You don't like him, do you?
- Barbara Gordon: It's kind of hard to like someone who kidnaps you and chains you up.
- Koonak: He just wants his wife back. He's not really bad.
- Barbara Gordon: You know this isn't right, Koonak. Help me get out of here, and l promise, I'll do everything l can to help her.
- Koonak: Sorry, lady. l can't.
- [walks out of Barbara's room, and meets Freeze outside the door]
- Koonak: You won't hurt her, will you?
- Mr. Freeze: [places a hand on Koonak's shoulder] No, of course not.
- Barbara Gordon: [Mr. Freeze chains Barbara to her bed] You don't have to chain me up, you creep!
- Mr. Freeze: Try to escape again, I'll chain your feet as well.
- Mr. Freeze: [finds Barbara in Nora's operating chamber] Get away from her!
- Barbara Gordon: [brandishes pipe] You get away from me!
- Dr. Gregory Belson: [drops down from air duct] Give it up, Barbara. There's no place to run. Everybody, just calm down.
- Barbara Gordon: [angrily smashes bottles with pipe] No. You calm down! I want to know what I'm doing here.
- Dr. Gregory Belson: I'm Dr. Gregory Belson. That's Victor Fries.
- Barbara Gordon: I know who he is. Everyone in Gotham knows you.
- [looking at Nora]
- Barbara Gordon: And I know who that is, too. I thought your wife was dead.
- Dr. Gregory Belson: She will be dead if you don't help her.
- Barbara Gordon: [realising why Mr. Freeze kidnapped her] That's what this is about, isn't it? It's about her.
- Dr. Gregory Belson: She needs an operation that requires a transfusion. You're one of the few people with her rare blood type.
- Barbara Gordon: Uh-huh. So why here? She should be in a hospital.
- Mr. Freeze: No hospitals and no more questions.
- [aims his freeze gun at Barbara]
- Dr. Gregory Belson: Victor, you wouldn't let her die, would you?
- Barbara Gordon: Listen, you kidnap me, then expect me to cooperate? I'll help her but not here. Not this way.
- Mr. Freeze: Enough talk!
