Barry Malkin, the film editor who collaborated with director Francis Ford Coppola on 11 features, earning Oscar nominations for The Godfather: Part III and The Cotton Club, has died. He was 80.

Malkin died Thursday at his longtime home on Central Park West in New York City, a family spokeswoman told The Hollywood Reporter.

Malkin also collaborated with director Andrew Bergman on four films: The Freshman (1990) starring Marlon Brando; Honeymoon in Vegas (1992); It Could Happen to You (1994); and Isn't She Great (2000).

Los Angeles, Nov 12: Actor George Clooney only has words of praise for his friend and actress Sandra Bullock. He is happy that she has managed to stir up a buzz for an Oscar with her performance in "Gravity".

"Isn't she great," he said here at the AFI Film Festival premiere of "August: Osage County" here recently.

"I've known Sandy (Sandra) for - she doesn't want me to say - over 25 years," he added.

Clooney, 52, who is close to Bullock's three-and-a-half-year-old son Louis, has stood by Bullock since their struggling days. He has seen her through her tough days, including her divorce from husband Jesse James.

Sometimes even when George Clooney is joking, he can be serious. I've been on a Mad Men bender. Nine episodes in the past three days. This decision was spurred on by a hugely thoughtful gift from a friend (1st and 2nd season) and the abundant Emmy nominations last week. Just as I began to watch Season 1 in marathon form -- I'd only seen some of it not being a regular until season 2 -- the publicity blitz for Season 3 (coming in August) started hitting.

This Interview interview with January Jones (aka "Betty Draper") is so cute.

Who knew that that Ethan Hawke wolfdog movie White Fang (1991) was that inspiring to little children? It made little January want to be an actor. Jones is so sneaky/fantastic as Betty Draper (she's almost too good in the role for you to notice how much she's doing... initially) that I must now thank the makers of White Fang for contributing to the wonder that is Mad Men.
