The Why Why? Family

After about 13 years, I finally found out again what this show was. I always remember this one sciencey kid's show that described and explained all sorts of magnificent mind boggling phenomena that could keep me busy for hours or even days! Sometimes when I wonder how I became the science-loving curious man I am now, I often think back of this show, even though it's only a vague memory.

What was great about Why Why Family was that it actually was interesting: It covered subjects that were 'complex' to understand technically, but easy enough for children to understand conceptually. By using this approach, I would see the world in such a different manner, and stimulated me to build upon this conceptual basics.

This show encouraged thought and to think beyond the superficial, to always wonder how things worked, truly taught us that the world was a magnificent and curious place to be in, and most of all, that thing rarely are TOO complicated. This show made me feel empowered and curious. Great show.

I know this review is being done nine years after the show, The Why Why Family, was out, I feel that I must do this review, for kicks. The Why Why Family is a show similar to that of, Hysteria, in the sense that it tries to teach young children assorted things, like how an oven operates. But unlike Hysteria, the Why Why Family wasn't very funny. The show really centered around getting the message out in a child friendly way, rather than actually appealing to young children, with a good sense of humor. Because of this, the show is dull, and is really only for the people who want their children to ascertain vast amounts of knowledge. In general, the show did get out the messages that they had intended for children. Though the information given wasn't very funny, it was still given in an understandable manner. And besides this, the theme song was very catchy, though many don't consider this a very redeeming quality of a television show.
