In the final unaired episode, "Bye, Bye, Beavers", Norb and Dag have a conversation about being cancelled and rerun over and over again, at virtually no cost for the network.
Plans for a movie never got out of development.
The show was inspired from Mitch Schauer's early years in Oklahoma, when he was homeless and often spotted beavers in a nearby river. Schauer also cited The Pink Panther Show (1969), Los Picapiedra (1960), and Rocky and His Friends (1959) as primary influences.
Stacy and Chelsea, Norbert and Daggett's sisters, were voiced by and named after creator Mitch Schauer's real-life daughters, Stacy and Chelsea.
Daggett and Norbert's moose telephone was modeled after Bullwinkle from Rocky and Bullwinkle.
