Very interesting......... so maybe this is what happens to very successful UK stars that fall off the radar . Cannot believe that David Jason/David Macallum would have gotten involved in this genre !! Mix of bad American cop series vs Man from Uncle spy,American made obviously with Septic production. A movie that defies belief which surely did not make a profit.Cannot make my mind up if it was classified as a spoof or a comedy because it is certainly NOT a thriller !! I can only think that both main actors had commitments to their pension funds that needed servicing !! David Jason has surely lowered himself to the edge of his profession in this with epics of old like INspector Frost and other high class UK "made for TV" series and specials

Former MI6 agent Steven March is pulled out of retirement to carry out one last, lucrative after for his former boss, to travel to The Windy City and assassinate Dan Paterson, a Russian born, American businessman, a face from the past. March gets involved when Paterson's daughter is kidnapped by a gang of Chinese gangsters.
Has this perhaps not aged very well, or does it just suck? I have genuinely waited years for this, and in the end I succumbed and bought it, I wish I'd saved my £12.
It's not great, I'm stunned to discover that 11 million people tuned in to watch this, no wonder it's never had a commercial release, did someone perhaps watch this and this and think The Royal Bodyguard was a good idea.
It's not all terrible, a few lighter moments, David Jason is always good value and Chicago looks great, sadly I can find no more plus points.
Further negatives include the awful music, which invades like a plague of locusts, a rather silly storyline, too many hard to believe moments, including the high profile kidnapping and the stereotypical obese Chicago cop, shoving down an enormous takeaway. A waste of David McCallum.
One more positive, I don't think I've ever seen David Jason look so smart, that looks really did suit him.
4/10.
