How to have body contact and remain distant

What thoughts would go through two strangers minds after initially bypassing the social preliminaries and going to intimate contact and then getting to know each other better? The intimation is that maybe they would like to take the relation further, but professional ethics require them to escape to the past, so as to almost avoid the present. The sexual tension is so thick you can cut it with a knife.

Roeg does his usually excellent job of mixing the erotic with the everyday and making it seem completely natural.

what's the point

Nina (Mimi Rogers) is a tough art dealer and gallery owner. She is expecting her regular weekly massage from Douglas and is surprised by substitute Fitch (Bryan Brown). She's annoyed but accepted the unexpected change. He's a new age thinker with varying experiences like from the Hopi Indians. She's a driven single woman. They talk about their past relationships and philosophies as flashbacks are shown.

This is a long meandering conversation. It doesn't really move anywhere. There isn't a narrative or a plot. It's simply two characters talking about their lives. For some people, the biggest point is a naked Mimi Rogers. Otherwise, it's hard to see any point to this. The production is more late-night erotica than an artistic journey. I would have liked stories that are less philosophical and more compelling.

stupendous breasts make it worth watching

I can't really remember much of what this film was supposed to be about, some sort of philosophical ramblings delivered whilst a bloke massages a woman. Who cares? The fact is, you get to see a lot of the glorious Mimi Rogers and her awesome breasts and magnificent buttocks. If that makes me sound like a sad pervert, so be it. To be honest the rest of the film sent me to sleep. How is it that I have to drag myself to work very day and Bryan Brown gets to oil Mimi Rogers up for a living? Okay, so he has some acting talent - not a lot mind you - and I have none, but it's still not fair. In my opinion his finest hour was not his version of Hamlet at the Old Vic but keeping his pants under control during this shoot.... I certainly take my hat off to him for that.

Basically Mimi wanted to show the world why Tom Cruise went bonkers over her natural jugs.

I saw this for the first time few days back n it is crystal clear that i came here for the boobs but i also wanted to check out the conversations between the masseur n the client. I thot maybe I can learn a thing or two since I am a professional trainer, but alas the chats r boring n not at all engrossing.

There is absolutely no plot but mundane talks.

Absolutely no thrill.

The only redeeming thing is Mimi's natural jugs.

As a personal gym instructor sometimes even in our fraternity we swap clients, take each others' classes but nobody gets philosophical with clients.

Whatever said n done, I somehow managed to pull thru the entire movie without fast forwarding it.

TOO relaxing

This occasionally interesting film has a number of good qualities, but frequently I found that the never-ending conversation wasn't very interesting. This was a very relaxing film to watch, thanks in large part to the constant massaging. Unfortunately, with much of the dialogue being somewhat dull, I found myself getting sleepy at times. Therefore, it was a bit of a hassle trying to stay awake through the film. Sometimes, the conversation was enjoyable, and certainly Mimi is nice to look at, but I can't recommend any film when it is this easy to fall asleep while watching it.

Pointless artsy fartsy nonsense.....awesome boobs though.

Hey kid, do you like huge awesome boobs? Mimi Rogers' freakin' enormous milk monsters are the only reason anyone will be watching this.

Otherwise it's a wet fart of a movie which exists for some....reason. Mimi Rogers and Bryan Brown are well known actors, what are they doing in this? They must have lost a bet.

You know Bryan popped a woody.

Softcore erotica but with some themes.

Nicholas Roeg is an auteur and Full Body Message is his television movie made with the gorgeously voluminous Mimi Rogers. No doubt this is what everyone will speak of- and indeed much discussion on the film solely rests on Miss Rogers assets. The story is simple: An art gallery owner gets her weekly massage from a man she is attracted to. One day he does not show up and instead there is a somewhat older man at her disposal. She agrees and we hear their banter on life and everything. This is an erotic film but the way it is shot and filmed will have you not aroused but engrossed. Mimi Rogers and Bryan Brown are too good an actors to screw this up and the cinematography is really good. A strange but rather good TV movie.

Belladonna's on the massage seat Her breasts upon the off beat

The film had good potential but lousy script and boring dialog between two lead characters doesn't really moved anywhere and film had no erotic moments, even you look about drama there is nothing you can find except boring flashbacks. If it weren't for Mimi Rogers and her magnificent breasts movie would had been tedious. This talented director has many good movies but too bad this is not one of them!

Slow, but good

The film is really just Bryan Brown giving Mimi Rogers a massage while they talk of various things, mostly philosophical, and interspersed with flashbacks of their respective lives. You could say that it's slow, and I suppose that it is, but I found this movie to be refreshingly different. No car chases, no guns, no drugs, no smart-assed hero. Mimi Rogers spends a fair amount of time naked and this is, of course, very, very, very, very aesthetically pleasing. I have to wonder about Imdb's rating system when the "weighted average" is 5.6 and the real average is 7.6. At least they do publish the mean and median scores.

Strange Movie

I found this movie very strange. It certainly has appeal with the gorgeous Mimi Rogers showing every inch of body off, but the story get very confused. Rogers has a regular weekly appointment for a Massage in her home. One day she is surprised to learn that her regular Masseuse, Dennis has sent a replacement. The replacement, Brian Brown, proceeds to give Miss Rogers her massage and throughout the movie the two engage in some verbal sparing, finding that there is a connection but that there is also a strange friction between them. Mimi Rogers is gorgeous so if you are a fan of hers, you are certainly going to like this movie. If you are into the kind of movie that has some deep dialog, you will also probably like this movie. If your looking for a great story, this movie will disappoint you. I think this movie could have been perhaps a great movie if they concentrated on the relationship between these two opposites following the oft used opposites attract theme. I do recommend this movie simply because Mimi Rogers is too gorgeous to ignore.

Another angle on Full Body Massage

A gallery owner is surprised when her home masseur sends a replacement, from whom she receives intellectual and spiritual, rather than sensual, treatment. Essentially a long conversation about art, life and relationships, broken up with the director's customarily intriguing montage, and in which the star bravely exposes herself physically as well as emotionally. Compelling viewing.

Those big distractions.

If the point and main interest of this movie was intended to be the philosophic conversation, then Mimi Roger's bare breasts were an unnecessary distraction. I couldn't for the life of me give my attention to what they were talking about when her bare body gave me so much else to think about. And how Bryan Brown was able to concentrate on his acting whilst massaging her voluptuous breasts and body is a wonder to me. Mimi Rogers must be quite comfortable with her body and quite fearless in being willing to subject it to the close scrutiny of cinema audiences. But I'm somewhat disappointed in her. She's such a good actress that I would have thought such a soft-porn movie was beneath her.

Brown the Roeg.

An interesting TV movie from Roeg who uses his dream like camera zooms and flashbacks to great advantage in the restriction of one major location. Brown gives one of his best performance in a role that you would never have cast him in.

Director-for-hire

I am a great fan of director Nicolas Roeg. Even his lesser films are more interesting than other directors at their best. He has a unique visual style that I liken to a cinematic jigsaw puzzle. He purposely excludes certain pieces so that we the audience have to draw our own conclusions on what the story is about. Full Body Massage is on that lower tier in his illustrious career and feels like it was done for a paycheck rather any great passion for the story. As others have noted its appeal comes from Mimi Rogers being frequently undressed throughout. I've noticed a theme that runs through several of his films, namely the abyss that exists between women and men. He explores this a number of times. Even as far back as Walkabout in which a girl and her young brother are lost in the outback of Australia and encounter a Aboriginal young on his walkabout. Since they don't speak the same language they must communicate through gestures, but this is an insufficient means. This lack of communication appears in other films of his, but with similar results. Full Body Massage is his most dialogue heavy and it does gets a very tedious at times. Even for those hardcore fans like himself they might wonder what it's all about. Regardless of Ms. Rogers' nakedness we still need something a little more substantive to dig our teeth into. Even the visual flare that mark his best films is kept on the down low and is told in a very flat and conventional style. The one word I never thought I'd ever use to describe a Nicolas Roeg film is "conventional". But this was made for Showtime who produced their own soft-core "erotic" films. Obviously his heart wasn't in the production and it feels lazy.

I love boobies, I love boobies, I love boobies, 'cause I'm a big kid now!!!

In this movie, Mimi Rogers is naked!

Mimi Rogers plays a successful art gallery owner who gets weekly full body massages to relieve her 'tensions' (pun definitely intended). Her usual masseuse skips out and sends in this other guy who talks and talks and talks while, wait for it, massaging Mimi's body.

This is as deep as the plot gets. But, if one is watching this movie, that is not the least of their concern. Because, in this movie, Mimi Rogers is naked!!

She, a voluptuous woman (38D-26-36!!!!), gets all oiled up, and you can fully see her buttocks and breasts, which get massaged for a long time, and guess what? They are real! Now, some of you might be wondering why I keep talking about Mimi Rogers's body - which is naked in this movie, by the way. That's because this is an erotic movie, and that's all there is to it.

There has not been an erotic movie with a plot of reasonable depth other than 'Kama Sutra,'and 'Full Body Massage' proves this point.

My review of this movie would have been 2/10, but thanks to Mimi Rogers, who is naked in this movie, it gets an 8/10. Keep in mind that just 3 years after this movie, Mimi Rogers wears a body-hugging spacesuit in 'Lost in Space,' which is a family movie... (awkward)

Full Body Massage is an erotic movie with Mimi Rogers, who shows that perfection can be achieved without plastic surgery, and it's a must see for all fans (erotic movie fans and Mimi Rogers fans).

One of the Most Erotic Films of All Time !!!

This is definitely a very sexy movie. I could have watched it without stopping even if it had gone on for five hours. The plot is not really complicated as most of the movie revolves around Bryan Brown giving Mimi Rogers massages while entertaining (or possibly boring) her with anecdotes from his life. However, it is a must for anyone who thinks Rogers is a hottie. She never displayed herself like this before and probably never will again. The only thing the keeps this movie from being THE most erotic film I've ever seen is that it doesn't have any full frontal shots of Rogers, although she does spend the majority of movie nude or topless.

Low quality drama, but keeps you occupied with nudity.

This movies plot is not a high point of the film. It is not as high drama as you would normally see. But, the continued showing of lead star Mimi Rogers totally nude body shall keep you watching. The movie constantly returns the Mimi's breasts, showing them for no real apparent reason than sexual appeal. For young men who like breasts, this is the movie to see. Low quality drama; high quality nudity and sexual appeal. Nice directing and camera angles.

Believable interaction

Nick Roeg always provides an interesting film dealing with the loss or rejection of our primitive instincts. In this very contemporary scenario we witness the interaction of a woman art dealer and an unexpected replacement masseur. Art, idealistically, is the essence of our culture, and touch (massage) is a basic communication of truth, yet in the end we find that both these people have been stranded alone by their past failures. We are perhaps witnessing the beginning of a romance. Not so much thought-provoking as it is believable (if you've ever been addicted to massage).

good holistic health experience for serious seekers

Contrary to most of the other lay reviewers, I am a serious student of holistic health practices, esp. eastern traditions- and I was not looking for much gratuitious sex...although the nudity was o.k. I thought Brian Brown did a good job (and apparently he has had some training in massage) -I thought the acting was good, and I liked the way that the "dilemma" of sexuality vs. health treatment was handled.

Mimi Rogers, always a treat for the eyes, was believable as a conflic- ted yuppie with good taste, inquiring mind, and hungry libido. I have recommended this film to others who are massage/holistic health buffs. It would not appeal to many people who are just looking for spicy sex, however.

A review written about a great movie

This movie should be watched by any and all people but it should be watched by EVERY body worker out there. Mimi Rogers has a beautiful body. This movie is not a movie about sex or sensual massages. Mimi is very comfortable with her body and with Brian working on her. Any body worker would be lucky to work on her. Brian did have one moment of a laspe when Mimi requested him to remove her cover and he spent an extra long time staring at rear. Which by the way is Great. This is a movie anyone would be lucky to make and star in

The title basically explains the reason you'd watch this

Mimi Rogers has spectacular breasts. That's the only reason you'd watch this. It really is rather pointless. However, if you have some sort of obsession for female assets of huge proportions, watch it by all means.
