A stern, raw, one breath-timing journey

A stern, raw, one breath-timing journey, and the even darker conclusion. One picture, three women, so many sorrow - after all the unsolvable mystery. It's more than a film, more than an work of art, it's just like a poem without words, something incomprehensible, something personal called life. I saw this film 10 years ago, and I still remember it, because it's so powerful and awesome. That's why I really love the art movies, i'ts timeless, worthy and beautiful. The director was inspired by a photo, and he makes a whole world not with colors, but passion. Grab it,check it, and go over again and again......

Wind

I quite liked this one. Very nicely done. No words; in fact, barely anything at all from the actors. This was like a painting that unfolded as the camera panned around in a circle. A 360 degree painting in a way. Like many paintings, it tells a story whose true mystery will never be revealed. Simply put, a great demonstration of the use of the camera as a paintbrush.

Whatis is behind the photo?

Szél is a short movie from 1996, the proposal of Iványi is talking about a storie behind a Lucien Harve photo. Only with one shot, the director brings to us the reason for the three women being in a queue, and the reason for their afflicts looks. It's an interesting movie that analyses deeply what it was not shown by the Harve photo. Finally, this movie is important to illustrate something, a film isn't only what is included in the frame, Iványi shows everything to us, but definitely, this is not a rule.

Finding out what was not on the photo...

"During a film course lead by Yvette Biro at the Hungarian Academy of Drama and film in 1995, the director students were shown a black-and-white photo taken by Lucien Herve in 1952, and they were given the task of writing a short film based on it. Three women are standing at the outskirts of a village, looking out of the picture in the same direction. This six-minute one-shot film shows what the Herve photo does not."

After hastily submitting my Cannes film I came to see how my predecessors fared, blessedly sucking in the oomph.

There is only one shot in the whole movie, such a concise writing style, but the women are so vividly depicted. In life they are silent, speechless and left out. Such an object image of a complete bystander is shown, at the beginning and the end. At the same time, the whole scene of the incident is explained, which can be regarded as a qualified social observation! It's like some directors, who call themselves documentaries, but borrow images to defraud.

Please, please, please, please let me get into Cannes!

The tracking shot is the progression of the story,

One incredible long and slowly changing shot revealing the (possible) story behind a photograph...
