Trama

In Ontario, Canada, three fourteen-year-old boys, Kyle, Brad and Eric are forced to perform an ordeal when they find a wounded mysterious fugitive named Luke, who has a gun and claiming to be a cop, has taken a hiding in their clubhouse.

During the summer in Ontario, Canada, three teenage friends, Kyle, Brad and Eric, have a secret clubhouse in the woods away from the pressures of growing up where they can talk and laugh about anything that they want. One of the boys, Kyle has a dream of being a airline pilot. His older brother, Jake is a arrogant jerk who doesn't treat Kyle well. Kyle has a crush on a pretty girl, Megan and wants to ask her out. Then one day, the boys come back to their clubhouse and they discover an older man named Luke, a mysterious fugitive who has taken shelter in their clubhouse, his leg is bleeding and he has a gun. He tells them that he's a cop and that he's on the run and needs the three boys help. Luke tells the boys that he needs them to push a car down a hill. They agree to hide him, and he seems seems nice at first becoming their confide, but then Luke gets angry and violent, he sends them on a ordeal, but this puts the boys lives in serious danger, will the three boys make it out alive?

In the year 1995, in Ontario, Canada, three boys Kyle (Dominic Zamprogna), Brad (Stuart Stone) and Eric (Devon Sawa) are riding around town on their bikes. They ride onto a dirt road, they then go through a water tunnel and onto another dirt road, a clubhouse is shown and they are next seen in the clubhouse talking and laughing about an adult movie Eric got caught watching. They clink their Slush Puppies cups together and Eric lights a cigarette and shoots some BBs into a target. He shoots a BB into Brad's cup, spilling Slush Puppy juice on him Brad wipes it off. The three boys discuss Kyle wanting to be a pilot. The stereo in the clubhouse is playing music and Eric turns up the music louder, annoying Brad.

Kyle is riding his bike home at night and tosses it on the grass and he goes in the house, his Dad (Nicholas Campbell) is washing his hands and Kyle asks his dad if Jake has been home to which he has not been. Kyle asks his dad about the mail and if there is any pilot exams that came in, to which there wasn't. Beer bottles are shown on the table and Kyle's Dad is disappointed that Kyle didn't mow the lawn like he was supposed to. Kyle tells his dad good night and his dad tells him that he is going to go outside and mow the lawn right now. Kyle goes outside and tries to start the lawnmower but it doesn't work so he kicks it and it eventually starts.

The next day at the Main Mart, a grocery store, Megan (Amy Stewart) is sitting outside with her friends and the three boys are inside the grocery store. Eric is playing the arcade game, 'Street Fighter II'. Kyle and Brad pay for a few items, Eric loses at the arcade game. Kyle sees Megan with her two friends, Eric asks Kyle if he is interested in Megan, and Kyle is not sure what to say to her. Eric says that he will help him out with talking to her. The three boys go outside and talk to Megan with her two friends and Kyle asks Megan how the strike is going. She says it is pretty boring. Megan asks them if they are going to go to Killroy's party. Kyle says maybe they will, Megan says that party is tonight.Eric tells her that they have made other plans. Brad tells them that they are not in the loop. The three boys say goodbye to Megan and take off on their bikes. Eric tells Brad that he is the master of babes.

Kyle, Brad and Eric are walking their bikes along the trail and Eric looks down and picks up a pair of sunglasses off the ground. They go into the clubhouse and see a older man laying on the ground in the corner, points a gun at them and tells them not to move. He asks them if they know anything about the club house and the three boys say only that they know about it. The man tosses a police badge at them and introduces himself as Luke (Chris Penn). Luke has a bloody wound in his leg, he tells the boys that he was on the run and that he had to crash in their clubhouse and he couldn't move anymore. He limps on to a chair. Luke tells them that they boys will never see him again and they should keep their mouth shut and not tell anyone. Brad asks where it happened and Kyle tells Brad that Luke needs first aid. Luke asks for a band-aid, jokingly. Kyle says they can wash the wound and tie the leg off, Luke and the boys agree. Eric and Brad grab a bucket and leave the club house. Kyle tells Luke that he can stay at the club house if he wants. Luke tells him that that's fine. Kyle sits down in a chair. Luke asks Kyle if he is a pilot.

Outside, Eric and Brad go out to the river to get water in a bucket for Luke. Brad asks Eric why did Kyle have to stay back. Eric tells him to put the bucket into the water. Back at the club house, Luke wrings the rag out and he wipes away the blood on his wound. Luke addressees his wound with a pocket knife. Brad asks Luke how he ended up at the club house and Eric gives Luke a cigarette that he places behind his ear. Luke says that he drove, limped, crawled, and puked his way up there. Luke asked the boys where he is and Kyle says that he is in Emslie, Ontario, Canada. Luke tells Eric that those sunglasses he picked up are his and Eric gives Luke his sunglasses, but Luke says that Eric can keep them. Luke says it will be a few days until he can get to a phone. The boys tell him that he can stay there. Time passes and Eric asks Luke about how he got shot. Eric lights Luke's cigarette for him. Luke tells them his story about how it all happened so fast and how he was with a dealer and was shaking him upside down, and shaking the change out of his pockets, that he sees his friend Bruce who is a Sargent and his boss. He tells them that Bruce had smiled at Luke and then pulled his .38 out of his pocket and shot him. Luke tells the boys that was the mechanics of it and Kyle asks how he got away. Luke says he got away through the window, how he fell out and how he started shooting back and missing everything. Luke says that Bruce was coming out how he was going to do the same thing again, Luke says that he saw a cab sitting on the curb and he jumped in. Eric asks Luke if he needs painkillers. Luke says Booze would do. Luke tells them that he needs the three boys to get rid of a car for him. He tells him to push the car down the hill so nobody will see it. The three boys all agree to this.

Kyle, Brad and Eric walk onto a dirt trail and Eric finds a stick that he breaks over his knee and tosses it into the woods. The boys see the car that Luke was talking about and Brad is hesitant about pushing it. He suggests they could get the Police to help them instead, But Eric and Kyle convince him to help. The boys push the car and it goes down a hill crashing into a tree. Eric and Kyle run out to the car. They high five each other, but Kyle asks Eric why he hit him him so hard.

Kyle, Brad and Eric are outside the convince store as Eric smokes a cigarette, they see a police car drive by and get nervous. The boys find Simon (Max Piersig); Jake's friend who is smoking a cigarette and Kyle asks him if he got their booze, the boys think that he is taking their booze and Simon challenges them asking if they are going to fight him for it. Brad says they should leave and Simon sees a car drive up as Jake, Kyle's brother (Jarred Blancard); in his car as it rolls up to them and jumps in. Jake lights cigarette as Kyle tells Jake to give them their booze, Jake has Simon throw a bottle over the car and it shatters. Jake tells Kyle he is not going to be going home cause his dad is on the rag. Jake tells Kyle to fist bump him and he does. Jake and Simon drive off.

Kyle, Brad and Eric are outside with Luke who is taking a bath in the river. Eric is pouring water over him and they talk about Simon if they respect him. Eric says no, Luke tells him to forget all of it and that he has probes of his own, he tells the boys that he misses his girlfriend. Luke takes a shampoo bottle and puts shampoo in his hair. He asks Brad if he agrees with him . Luke rubs the shampoo in his hair and tells them that he was alone in the shack missing his girlfriend, saying how all the naked girls the three boys have pinned up all over the walls so maybe it would help him sleep. Eric throws a stone in the river, Luke tells the boys that something has to connect your dick to your thigh ad if anybody else knows about it to which Eric this that Brad might. Luke says that boys see girls in the hallways with their new cosmetics and asks them where he thinks they get the money. Eric asks Kyle what he is thinking about. The boys know that Kyle is thinking about a girl and Luke says she she's cute, that he has ESP saying how he cans see her face in the river and shes if Kyle told her that he is a pilot for it might help. Eric says that they should not be out in the open and Luke says that he will have a empty gun ad likes to have a solution to the problems when they come up. Eric splashes Luke with a pail of water.

The boys are outside Eric's house and discuss why Luke has bullets and a gun. Brad tells Kyle and Eric if anyone gets hurt its because of them and that he's out. Brad tells Eric they will just tell Luke that they couldn't get the car. Eric's mother comes out and asks them how their homework is coming along and Eric says it is doing great. The boys agree to stay quiet about Luke.

Outside at night, Brad and his father and mother are cooking dinner on the grill and a neighbor boy named Bobby (Sean Dick) is there, Bobby goes and gets his dinner and Brad and Kyle talk about Eric, Brad says how Brad and Eric have their 'thing' and how Brad is isolated. Brad tells Kyle that Eric just tolerates him just so Brad can hang out with him. Brad thinks that Kyle's dad is a jerk but Kyle says that's not true. Kyle say's he's gonna get into the school and tells Brad that if he want's to bail then that's fine.

The next day, outside the clubhouse, Luke has his gun out and asks the three boys if he wants to shoot anyone, Brad says 'no' and Luke says that they are just sitting around and talking. He asks them why does he have a loaded and cocked gun. Luke pops out the cylinder and Kyle says that he uses the ejector rod. Eric puts a cigarette in his mouth. Luke tells the three boys what not to do with a gun telling them how never to point a gun at anyone even themselves, even if they think the gun is unloaded, and that you don't look down the barrel when their cleaning it, ever Luke says that he knows that there is no bullets in the gun, as he points the gun to his head and pulls the trigger. The gun does not go off, Luke says that he knows it's empty. He tells the boys that's an example of what not to do and he did it once to prove a point. He lets the three boys play with the unloaded gun as shutterstock effects fill the screen.

Eric and Kyle go to the liquor store and are talking loudly out in the open, asking what they should get, and the Liquor Store Cashier (Brock Curley) tells the boys to leave and the Liquor Store Manager (Bif Naked) tells them to leave or they will call the police and Eric and Brad ignore her. Eric and Brad take a whine bottle off the shelf ask the manager if she likes that wine and she tells him to put the bottle back. Eric and Kyle open it. The Liquor Store Manager tells him to put the bottle back and Eric drinks from it.Eric break the bottle and they start running around the store and harass the Liquor Store Cashier (Brock Curley) and Liquor Store Manager, they vandalize the liquor store area. Brad walks out of the store having stolen some whiskey.

Back at the clubhouse, Eric and the other boys along with Luke open a pizza box from 'Pizza Pizza' and enjoy the pizza. Brad notices Luke has handcuffs. They grab whiskey from Brad's back pack. Luke drinks from the whiskey that was stolen.

Megan and her friends are in the 'Main Mart' store and Eric and Brad have Kyle ask Megan on a date, to which she says, yes. The three boys walk outside and Kyle smokes a cigarette, Kyle notices an airplane in the sky.

At night, Jake is shown watching a music video on TV and Kyle comes in smoking a cigarette with a ashtray. Jake tells Kyle he should bury the ashes so his dad does not see them. Kyle Search to do this but then he sees a letter in the garbage can and pulls it out it is the exception letter that he was waiting for. He goes over to Jake and asks him about it, Kyle's dad drives up and Kyle goes outside and asks him about the letter. Kyle takes off on his bike and Jake mouths off to his dad, he shoves Jake to the ground.

Kyle goes back to the clubhouse and shows Luke the letter, Luke tells him that he didn't have anyone while growing up and That you do want to others and that you eat when you kill and that is what life is. Kyle asked Luke if that he's not a cop and Luke asked him if his friends told him that Kyle says just him. Luke tells Kyle to trust him. That his friends don't have to know about anything, Luke tells him that when he's gone, he and his friends can all have a big laugh. Luke tells Kyle that he can't expecting from people. and that if he wants to care about being a pilot and if he wants something then he should just take it.

The next day, Brad and Kyle wait for Eric. Eric, who is on his bike, Kyle asks Eric that he was supposed to be at the library and that he tells Brad that he hates books. Eric throws a book into the woods and drops a book on the ground. He catches up to them on his bike. Brad tells Kyle that Eric can't read. Kyle tells them he got something, implying it's his dad's gun.

Kyle's Dad goes outside and looks in his car and sees both of his windows broken on his car.

Luke is talking on Kyle's dad's phone to a woman named Betty he asks Kyle to come out of the clubhouse. Luke says that Kyle wants him to help him tonight to which Kyle says yes Look motions for Kyle to go back inside the clubhouse. Inside the clubhouse, Eric tells Brad that it had to look like a break in involving his dad's car. Luke starts arguing on the phone and he gets angry and smashes the phone on a rusty tire rim. Red tails, the boys that Luke smashed his phone about ten times. Luke goes inside and says the phone is busted and that he tells them just to get him to the road and that he can't stay there.

The boys are outside and discuss if Kyle will be at the clubhouse, and Brad says that he can make his own decisions, Brad gets on his bike. Eric tells Brad that he will call him.

Eric and Kyle are walking their bikes home when a police officer (Julian Richings) is at Eric's house with Eric's parent's (Peter Van Wart) and (Heidi von Palleske) and Eric tells Kyle to not say anything about the grocery store raid.

Eric and Brad and Luke are in the clubhouse, Eric tells Brad that the store doesn't even know that anything is missing. Eric tells Luke he brought him a present; some bullets. Luke thanks him and Eric asks Luke where he got the handcuffs, Luke says that he's a cop.

Megan and Kyle are outside at a campfire get together, drinking from a Alcohol flask, Megan tells Kyle that she wants to be a writer or a poem to because they make more money. Kyle tells Megan that He's going to school for single engine play zone East. Megan says that is cool. Kyle tells Megan that he shouldn't have told her about the shack and that Megan says that Eric already told her at a field trip. Kyle asks Megan if she wants to go purple hazing.

Back at the clubhouse, Eric is in the handcuffs and he closes them too tight Luke tells Eric that he's a criminal now. He tells Luke to take them off to which Luke says no and Luke goes out to the doorway and pretends to throw the handcuff key outside, Eric and Brad Are horrified that Luke did that but Luke reveals to them that he didn't actually throw the key.

Kyle and Megan go purple hazing outside and can't see due to staring into the light as shutterstock effects fill the screen. Kyle and Megan are then lying on the ground on a blanket. Megan says she is excited that she is with Jake's brother and Kyle kisses her on the lips and puts his hand on her left breast. He apologizes to her and she tells him that it is okay. Kyle tells her that Jake smashed their dad's car and runs off to which Megan is confused.

Back at the clubhouse, Luke says he is sick of hiding and takes a swig of whiskey. Megan knocks on the door. Kyle opens the door and Megan comes inside, Eric says that Luke is his uncle from Michigan. Megan takes some swings from the Old Grand Dad Whiskey and Luke tells her that no girls are allowed unless they are not wearing any tops. Eric and Brad are excited about seeing Megan topless but Kyle is not. Megan says she is drunk and teases them by quickly lifting her top and puts it back down. Luke gets more verbally aggressive and Megan runs out of the clubhouse. Kyle goes after her and Megan tells him that she should call the cops for trying to have Luke sexually expose herself. Kyle tries to reason with her but she leaves Kyle and runs off.

Kyle goes back to the clubhouse and sees Luke is very drunk. He grabs Brad and tells the other two boys that he wants his car or he will kill Brad. Luke then grabs Eric and Luke has them get a car. Kyle and Brad go to a phone booth to call for help. Kyle is rummaging through the phone booth book as Brad throws his bike on the ground, Kyle tells him to stop throwing his bike.

Luke is with Eric back at the clubhouse and Eric tells Luke that they will get the car and that they don't have anything to worry about and that nobody knows about the clubhouse. Luke has Eric turn around and Luke points the gun to the back of Eric's head as he urinates in a pail. He tells Eric that he is taking his sunglasses back.

At a party, Kyle and Brad steal Jake's car, Jake sees this and chases after them. Kyle accidentally crashes the car into a stop sign. Jake's screams in horror.

Afterwards, Kyle and Brad are back at the clubhouse, some cops go by the clubhouse and try to open the door but Kyle and Brad hold the door shut.

Jake goes out to the clubhouse and tells Kyle he's going to break every bone in his body for wrecking his car. He pours gasoline on the clubhouse steps and barrages in and sees Luke about to light his cigarette and Eric with the handcuffs. Luke asks Jake his name, Jake tells Luke what Kyle did to his car and that he was going to burn down the clubhouse and Luke tells him to close the door, Jake doesn't listen and runs out of the clubhouse, Luke shoots Jake in the back with the gun and tells Eric that Jake is outside bleeding, and to bring him in the clubhouse. Eric walks outside and drags Jake in the clubhouse.

Kyle and Brad return to the clubhouse and Kyle sees Jake's bloody body who is in shock. Luke tells Kyle the situation is a lot worse now and tells the boys to get the car. The boys go outside and Eric and Brad have a fight on the ground while Kyle tries to think of a plan. Kyle tells the other two boys he has to go see his dad.

Kyle returns home and his dad is drinking, he ells Kyle now to look at him and that he is on his vacation. His dad gives him a envelope with the acceptance letter. Kyle opens it and reads it the letter shows that Kyle got into the pilot school. Kyle tells his dad that he needs help and doesn't know what to do. His dad says that he is going to kick Jake out of the house and tells him that his is sick of Jake but that Kyle shows promise and that Jake is a zero. He mentions that maybe if his mother was still around but he doesn't know. His dad tells his that he needs to go to bed that he thinks he might have a virus and that he hopes that Kyle doesn't need money. Kyle replies that he doesn't need money.

The boys are outside and they see three children playing Monkey in the Middle with a basketball. Kyle asks Eric if he can get his dad's gun and Kyle and Brad talk about how Eric should not just say that he should get the gun unless if he actually will. Kyle says that he is worried about Jake. Brad asks if they can actually talk about something an Eric says that they know what they are talking about. Brad tells Kyle that he just can't goes up in someones face with a gun or it could wreck his life. The basketball from the boys playing Monkey in the Middle rolls to Kyle and he picks it up and throws it back to them.

Kyle is sitting on the ground and makes his hand in the shape of a gun and repeats to himself that he should 'take it' and 'use it'.

Back at the clubhouse, Jake is groaning about the pain he is in and Luke tells Jake, to stop complaining about it that he was stupid for running that he should have closed the door and not run and to look at the position that he put himself, Kyle and Luke in.

Eric and Brad join Kyle and talk about a plan for Luke. Brad tells Eric that it is all his fault.

Later at night, Kyle is at the clubhouse and tells Luke he going to be getting Eric's mom's car. Eric and Brad get the gun and find the old car that was in pushed down the hill, they realize a odd smell is coming from the trunk and open it, finding a dead police officer in the back of the trunk. At the clubhouse, Luke tells Kyle the rest of his story and that he killed a cop. Luke hears some noises from outside and gets suspicious. Kyle asks Luke if he has any big plans and he punches Kyle, sending him sprawling.

Eric and Brad are nervous about the planned attack. Luke puts bullets in the gun and points it at Jake to which Jake is screaming and shoots the gun but it doesn't go off. Luke points the gun at Luke and tells him that he's going to get a close look at the dark but then Luke he hears a noise, which is of Eric falling off the side of the clubhouse. Outside, Eric frantically looks for the gun on the ground. Luke grabs Kyle and goes outside shooting four bullet shots into the air, Eric runs into the grass and hides. Luke makes Kyle climb the stairs to the top of the clubhouse, Brad is at the top ready with the crowbar. Luke follows Kyle and gets to the top of the ladder but Brad knocks Luke off the wooden ladder sending Luke to the ground and jumps down and Kyle and Brad gang up and attack Luke beating him up, who has blood on his face and clothes. Kyle looks around and picks the gun up off the ground and points it at Luke. Luke tells him to use it, Eric comes in the clubhouse and he and Brad tell Kyle to stop. Eric tries to grab Kyle to get him to stop but Kyle pushes Eric off of him. Kyle backs out of the clubhouse slowly. Luke is shown to be still breathing. Kyle sits on the steps with the gun, the police put up yellow tape around the clubhouse. Kyle looks into the camera and a police officer takes the gun away. A police man files a report with Eric and Brad as they look over at Kyle. Eric and Brad sit down next to Kyle. Eric lights a cigarette and the ending credits roll.

NOTE: It is assumed that Jake died from blood loss as we don't see him anymore.
