I miss this show

Hi,

I disagree with the original comments that this show was not very funny. I personally thought it was one of the funniest TV shows I have ever watched. It was one of only a handful of shows where I actually laughed out loud watching TV. There was a waiter on roller skates who was portrayed as a rather dumb character. He was hilarious! I think that if this show had been given a more creative name and had been given a chance, it would have been a hit. I was very disappointed when they cancelled this, and if it ever comes out on DVD, I will not hesitate to buy it.

Great show bad network

Mel Gorham was fired after the second poilt cause they filmed it twice once with a test aduance than once when it was picked up with a new fancy set. So yea Mel was fired a new actress chosen and her roll cut down. She flopped with Aduancees and than they tried to get Mel back, but she said no! Anyhow they put this up against Friends and Seinfeld and questioned why it failed. Just to throw it out there Harriet Samson Harris has had a bad run off of sitcoms they have all been great but I know at least 2 times one of her sitcoms where cancled by perverted studio executives. Why do I have to type so much lol...... there not a lot to say about a show that was cancled after one episode....

A Show that got lost in the hubbub of Seinfeld

True enough some awful NBC sitcoms were put in the Thursday Night Must-See TV time slot before or after Seinfeld. Fortunately "Union Square" was one of them that was exceptional. I liked, and looked forward to it every Thursday night in the 1997-98 TV season. The wonderful Harriet Sansom-Harris (Desperate Housewives ABC-TV) was part of the ensemble cast. The underrated Michael Landes (the first Jimmy Olsen on Lois & Clark) was another cast member. I was sorry to see it go. NBC should have stuck with it. It ran a thirteen episode run before it was cancelled. It was fast, witty repartee that is sadly missing from most sitcoms. It was one of those sitcoms you could listen to and not have to watch the action.

An Incredibly BAD Television Show

This show already got cancelled a while back, to the joy of many, but it's worth noting how awful it was for posterity.

This poorly written and poorly acted show was given a plum Thursday night slot right after "Friends" and lost a *significant* amount of that audience, which would come back a half-hour later for "Seinfeld."

It was just plain torture to watch most of the time, and proved a very good point. Some people will watch anything, even if they hate it, if you sandwich it in between two of the most popular shows on television. It also proves more people need to get off their butts and turn off the TV instead of watching a half hour of *crap* to kill time.

Aside from making that criticism of people who watched it for no other reason than there was nothing else decent on and "Seinfeld" was just a few minutes away, I also offer a mea culpa for being guilty of doing the same thing. But after this stinker, I've learned from my mistakes.
