I've seen just about all of his movies, and this is in my top 3 favorites. His acting in this movie is excellant. Not only is he excellant, but also the plot. The mood, the scene, the characters, everything is just perfect. When you watch the movie you forget about everything else in your life and feel like you're actually in this Robin tale.
To anyone who has not seen it, and even if you're not a fan of Devon Sawa, Joshua Jackson or any of the other actors, I still advise you to watch it!

This movie had Josua Jackson and Devon Sawa in it need I say more? It was really cool Josh did play a bad guy but this movie was the best!! It was a really good movie and I am surprized more people did not see it it is on tv now. Hope it is on tv again soon because I have not seen it for a while.
There are a couple of things wrong with this movie. The first is the increasingly groan-inducing efforts to marry it up with the legend of Robin Hood - the title character is named Robin; he attends Locksley Academy; his love interest is called Marian; his friends are Will Scarlet and John Little; his main protaganist is John Prince; and the local priest is Father Tuck. I was waiting for the Sheriff of Nottingham to appear and sure enough.... The movie actually lifts several scenes right out of the Robin Hood stories. I guess that's easier for script writers than coming up with ideas of your own. Still, I guess every movie needs some sort of gimmick and the Robin Hood parallels is this one's.
The second problem with this movie is that it has unfortunately dated itself very badly with its heavy reliance on now outdated technology as part of the plot. You can't blame the writers for that but I do wonder if the tech savvy kids of today will relate to a character that has to use dial-up internet and a computer that looks like it runs the old Netscape browser and Windows 3.1. When Robin tells Marian about his use of the internet, she looks at him blankly and asks him what the internet is. Oddly enough, even though Robin's internet is so far behind what we have today, his computer has a level of voice recognition and voice control that Alexa, Google and Siri are still aspiring to.
Anyway, these things aside, this is not the worst family movie I have ever watched. It's fairly predictable and not really exciting, but I guess the kids might like it. There's not much here for adults to enjoy though, but you'll probably have to watch it with the kids anyway, so you can explain dial up internet and other archaic tech that will be completely alien to them. 5 out of 10.

This movie is an excellent movie. I am rarely a fan of robin movies but this was an impressive movie set in an atmosphere of old money and new money where a kid(Devon Sawa)whose family won the lottery must endure the constant criticism of children who come from old money. Robin fights these kids not in battle but in a competition fought at the end of his arrow. This has got to be one of the best teen movies of my past and one of Devon and Josh's greatest works. If you love the movies like Mighty Ducks, D2 and many other movies that puts a smile on your face when you think about your teen days, then this is definitely a movie you would love to see.
