Good Production value

This movie is one of the only big time sequels made in Bollywood. Though something happened to the script in the end, but nonetheless it was basically entertaining.The plot revolves how the diamond merchant (Dev Anand)returns in this movie as a big time merchant whose only ambition in life is to bring the Kohinoor ( Diamond) to India for exhibition. Now how the diamond comes and gets stolen and who is the theif is what the ploot is about. The only misconception people had about this movie was that this was a Dev Anand's production, but in fact it was after nearly 15 years that he worked for a Production house outside rather than his own. The producer for this movie was T.P.Aggarwal.

Not a Bad Sequel. Keeps you Guessing

This is not such a bad sequel to be Frank. However the climax does leave you a bit disappointed. Apart from last 20 mins. The movie is interesting and keeps you Guessing as to who is the real Jewel Thief. It's nostalgic to see the old veteran actors Dev Anand and Ashok Kumar in their old roles but new additions add to the twist, especially Dharmendra relation with them.

The suspense builds till the interval and twists keep happening. Definitely the VFX and stuff is below average but it's fine for a 90s movie. The only issue is the climax which is kind of stupid. The mail revelation is great but the presentation and reasoning is utterly stupid.

This film is one of the longest release of a sequel for a Bollywood movie series - 'Jewel Thief' was released in 1967 but waited 29 years before a sequel was released. It was the longest release of a sequel until it was equalled by Sadak 2 in 2020 which was itself a sequel of Sadak released in 1991.
