"The Imp" is just another of countless cheap HK exploitation flicks made during 90's.Stunningly sexy Pan Dang plays a Hong Kong woman who's traveling in search of her twin sister, who disappeared leaving nothing more than a native doll, the eponymous imp.Along the way she hooks up with a mobile film crew led by Category III veteran Mark Cheng. They discover that something isn't quite right with the boarding house in which they're staying."The Imp" offers plenty of raunchy sex and the last 15 minutes or so are pretty violent, but the pace is slow and the script is silly. However Pan Dang steals the show with her impressive breasts.Fands of HK sleaze should give this Cat III offering a look.
A twin receives a package from her sister who was visiting a remote village in Mainland China. She begins to have visions of the sister being in danger and heads to the village herself. On the way, she teams up with 4 others doing a documentary on the worshiping practices of a local cult. They all stay at an old inn and one by one, including some other guests and villagers, disappear.
The plot isn't new, as it mirrors some Hollywood movies of the past. It could have been better with a little less sex (really) and more intrigue. Some of the individual acting wasn't too bad, but the cult was a definite minus. Fortunately, they were only used as a reason for the film crew to be there and not given much camera time.

I liked this, it's a rather slow pace movie with sex and violence and good looking scenery. And plenty of funny characters.
Not the best plot ever but that's not the reason to watch a movie like this. It never get as gory or as sexual as some of the other movies in this genre. A nice movie for a rainy afternoon.
My DVD had a decent English subtitles even if you now and then could see that some of the wording where a bit strange, but I've seen far worse. Also now and then the subtitles are to fast to cover to much dialog and then at other times the dialog goes on for ever and is translated "Luckily" but I think that is part of the fun with this kind of movies.
