Alan Ritchson's latest project, War Machine, has officially begun filming in Australia. The Reacher star takes on the role of an Army Ranger undergoing a grueling selection process, with the film directed, co-written, and produced by Patrick Hughes (The Hitman's Bodyguard). Ritchson stars alongside Dennis Quaid, Stephan James, Jai Courtney, Esai Morales, and Australian actors Blake Richardson, Keiynan Lonsdale, and Daniel Webber, according to a report by Variety.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the sci-fi action thriller War Machine, which will be helmed by Patrick Hughes, known for The Expendables III, The Hitman’s Bodyguard and The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard, has now added more cast members to the film. Alan Ritchson, of the hit Prime Video series Reacher, has signed on to lead the film. The logline reads: “In the final 24 Hours of the world’s toughest selection process, a team of Army Rangers encounter a threat beyond their imagination.“

THR reports that Dennis Quaid, Stephan James, Esai Morales and Jai Courtney are all set to co-star in War Machine alongside Ritchson. Additionally, it is also being reported that singer-turned-actor Blake Richardson, Keiynan Lonsdale (The Flash), and Daniel Webber (The Dirt) have rounded out the cast of the film. The sci-fi actioner is set to stream on Netflix. It’s been scheduled to shoot in Australia this week.

Lionsgate tapped Hughes, best known for his work on The Hitman's Bodyguard series, to pen a script alongside James Beaufort before setting a deal with the streamer to distribute the movie. It comes hot on the heels of the news that Lionsgate will also be producing A Simple Favor 2 earlier today, this time with Amazon-mgm Studios.

Exclusive: Reacher’s Alan Ritchson is set to star in War Machine, the Patrick Hughes-directed and scripted action sci-fi film that will find its home with Netflix. Lionsgate developed the script with Hughes, best known for The Hitman’s Bodyguard films. Hughes wrote the script with James Beaufort (Machine). Lionsgate set the title in a deal with Netflix.

Exclusive: Luther and Hobbs & Shaw star Idris Elba is set to star in, produce and direct action-thriller Infernus, which Millennium Media will also produce and shop at next week’s Cannes market.

Elba will play Donovan Kamara, a U.N. human rights activist sent to investigate reports of refugees being illegally detained inside a U.S. black site prison. A seemingly simple task turns deadly when the world’s most dangerous inmates break free. Kamara must work to safely extricate the refugees, all while going head-to-head with a brilliant criminal mastermind.

Based on a story by Tom Boyle and screenplay by Robert Mark Kamen, the film is due to go into production on October 9th in London.

Four high-impact boxers — Sugar Ray Leonard, Roberto “Manos de Piedra” Durán, Marvelous Marvin Hagler and Thomas “The Hitman” Hearns — will re-enter the limelight in Showtime docuseries The Kings.

The first of the show’s four episodes will premiere on Sunday, June 6, at 8Pm Et/Pt on linear and streaming, the ViacomCBS premium network announced.

Nicknamed the Four Kings during their remarkable, overlapping careers, the quartet contested nine championship fights among them from 1980 to 1989. Their distinct styles and vivid personalities helped spark a renaissance in the sport of boxing, which had endured a downturn after Muhammad Ali’s storybook run concluded.

The backdrop of the series is the 1980s, a go-go decade marked by pronounced socioeconomic and political upheaval in the U.S. as President Ronald Reagan left his mark.

Oscar nominee Salma Hayek has joined House of Gucci, the feature film from MGM and Scott Free Productions that is in production. She joins an all-star cast that includes Lady Gaga, Adam Driver Al Pacino, Jeremy Irons, Jared Leto and Jack Huston, with Ridley Scott on board to direct.

“So happy to have my good buddy Salma join our wonderful cast,,” said producer Giannina Scott. “I’ve been talking with her about this Gucci project for 20 years. Now it’s happening and she is a part of it. Rid and I are thrilled.”

We now have our first official look at Lionsgate's upcoming action-comedy sequel The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard courtesy of a newly released image, and things do not look good for our heroic trio, Ryan Reynolds, Samuel L Jackson and Salma Hayek. Tied to chairs and looking every bit the worse for wear (particularly Reynolds), the image also gives us our first look at Desperado and The Mask of Zorro star Antonio Banderas, who, while his character currently remains a mystery, will surely be playing the villain of the piece.

Netflix is staying in the Ryan Reynolds business with another new movie. The Adam Project is in the works at the streaming service, with both Jennifer Garner and Zoe Saldana set to star alongside Reynolds. Additionally, Reynolds will be reuniting with director Shawn Levy on the project. The two previously worked together on the action/comedy Free Guy, which is expected to hit theaters sometime next year.

According to multiple reports, Ryan Reynolds will play the lead role in The Adam Project. The movie centers on a man who is forced to travel back in time to get help from his 13-year-old self. Exclusive: Lionsgate is shedding between 15-20 staff from its UK office as part of recently announced Global Motion Picture Group cuts, we can reveal.

Lionsgate has been a stalwart financier-distributor in the UK for more than a decade, backing and acquiring a host of Brit movies, often early in their production, and steering strong results for Lionsgate’s U.S. acquisitions and productions.

Much of that UK strategy and direction was driven by former UK & Europe CEO Zygi Kamasa who left the mini-major over the summer. Lionsgate’s current UK President of Film and TV Nicola Pearcey, who worked for 14 years under Kamasa, is set to leave at the end of this year after only a few months at the helm.

Going forward, we hear it’s likely Lionsgate will be less involved in early UK film production investments as the company centralises more control and strategy in the U.

Ryan Reynolds is a very busy man, and he can’t seem to stop adding new projects to his plate. The actor has The Croods: A New Age and Free Guy hitting theaters before the end of the year, The Hitman’s Wife’s Bodyguard arriving next summer and he’s currently hard at work on Netflix’s action blockbuster Red Notice, but after that he’s still got another nine movies in various stages of development.

Looking at his upcoming schedule, the Deadpool star is sticking with the aforementioned streaming site and moving directly onto the untitled time travel pic that has him reuniting with Free Guy director Shawn Levy. After 6 Underground and Red Notice, Reynolds looks to have a solid working relationship with the platform, while he says that Levy’s action comedy is the best thing he’s ever been in, so combining the two marks a logical progression.

Actors Gerard Butler and Frank Grillo have each carved out a career in big, explosive, shameless action flicks, and now, in some rare great news, both have been confirmed to be starring together in The Grey director Joe Carnahan's upcoming crime thriller, Copshop. Kurt McLeod wrote the original screenplay, which is based on a story by McLeod and Mark Williams, with Carnahan penning the most recent draft.

Copshop will reportedly take place in a small-town police station that becomes the unlikely battleground between a professional hitman, played by Butler, a smart rookie female cop, and a double-crossing con man, played by Frank Grillo, who seeks refuge behind bars with no place left to run. Though there is no word on who is being courted for the female lead, casting is currently underway. Principal photography is set to commence in October with the movie slated to shoot in Georgia and New Mexico.

Retrospective will feature new film Notturno which premieres at upcoming Venice Film Festival

Italian director Gianfranco Rosi will be the guest of honour at this year’s edition of the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (Idfa), running November 18 to 29.

The festival will screen all of his past features including Boatman, Below Sea Level, El Sicario, Room 164, the Venice 2013 Golden Lion-winner Sacro Gra and Fire At Sea, which clinched the Golden Bear at the Berlinale in 2016.

The retrospective will also feature his new film Notturno, which world premieres in competition at the Venice Film Festival in September and then heads to Toronto.

Exclusive: The Expendables and The Hitman’s Bodyguard producer Millennium has inked a music rights deal with major publisher Kobalt Music Group.

Under the agreement, Kobalt will administer all of Millennium’s music rights, including licensing, collections, creative services, and accounting. In addition, Kobalt’s recording division, Awal, will be used for marketing and distribution of select original song and score releases from Millennium.

The two companies will work to find opportunities across Millennium’s film and TV projects and Kobalt’s roster, which includes artists such as Childish Gambino, Dave Grohl, Enrique Iglesias, Kelly Clarkson, Finneas, Lionel Richie, Lauv, Stevie Nicks, Marshmello, Max Martin, Elvis Presley, The Weeknd, Roddy Ricch and Ozuna.

The sequel to the movie, titled The Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard, was scheduled for release this year. But in an Instagram post featuring a new poster for the upcoming movie, Hayek announced that it has been postponed by a year.

"Because of the confinement, the release of Hwb has been postponed to the summer of 2021. I'm kind of bummed because I can't wait for you all to see it."

The Hitman's Bodyguard told the tale of Michael Bryce, played by Ryan Reynolds. The man who calls himself the best there is, the best there was, and the best there ever will be will be co-starring with an '80s child star in an all-new horror movie. Called Tales from the Dead Zone, the new movie will star wrestling legend and WWE Hall of Famer Bret "The Hitman" Hart alongside Corey Feldman. As an anthology movie, four separate stories will be explored, connected by an overall story arc that wraps them together. It's presented from the point of view of a medical examiner performing autopsies on the victims of a deadly car crash, imagining what their lives must have been like prior to the incident.

Concerning the cast, it appears there are many horror fans not very receptive to the idea of seeing a movie co-starring Bret Hart and Corey Feldman. "We get messages from people, who think it's a disaster," says director Barry J. Gillis.
