Beta is the story of Raju, the only child of a widowed multi millionaire. Raju's father can provide him anything he wants but Raju's only desire is to get mother's love, in order to please Raju, his father gets married to Nagmani, thinking that she will take care of Raju more than his real mother would. Raju becomes completely devoted to his stepmother, doing whatever she wishes. Time passes by, Raju grows up and gets married to Saraswati. Saraswati discovers that Nagmani's motherly love for Raju is fake and all what Nagmani is interested in, is capturing Raju's wealth.

Not only one of Madhuri's best but also Anil's best!

Some of the comments I couldn't disagree more. Yes the comedy was dodgy, but in which Hindi movie in that era has the comedy not been dodgy?! 9/10 Hindi movies are far-fetched and this is why we watch them.

Beta could have been better written, but as it is, it isn't written badly. Acting from Anil and Madhuri is A-class, as well as Aruna Irani and Anupam Kher.

Without the class side actors, this movie would have been nothing. One of my best Anil movies of all time..!

Indra Kumar's other movies I really enjoyed was Raja and Ishq, I disliked the others. Mann had potential but still really disappointing from a creative maker like Mr Kumar.

Anil kapoor create mildstone of SUPERSTAR on this movie

Excellent superstar of anil kapoor personality not comparatively with anyone actor he wear natural looking like Indian cultural dress dhooti, kurta and tilak on forehead and acting based Anil kapoor shows his acting level to the world, Anil kapoor stardom can't cover on any ones stardom because he shows his leading acting quality and ability

Clearly a. Madhuri Dixit movie she shows her range as an actor and she is like a. Rainbow at one time she is erotic at other she is Emotional and at othe she is comic and mainly so powerful she outshines the two leads Aruna and Anil which are equally Good But this movie is clearly a Madhuri Dixit movie

Clearly one of Madhuri's better performances. The film could have been treated better by the director though. Watch the film if you are a fan of Madhuri.

The casts, the songs!

Saas-bahu story makers, please take a note from this for not dragging the drama!

Didn't expect the 'Dhak Dhak' song appear on the first 35:11 minutes. Entertaining!

The story focused on saas-bahu drama, both Madhuri Ma'am-Aruna ji did really well. The sequence when Saru's (MD Ma'am) people & fam sus her for having affair & a night with Raju (Anil Sir) - when she fought back for herself & asked Raju for a marriage in front of everyone - uff FIRE!! Don't worry, Anil Kapoor still shining, you would love Raju & felt wanna fight for him yet couldn't blame him for what happened.

Kinda hope they had different ending for Raju's mom tho, but well... okay then. Let's just have big heart like how Raju & Saru do.
