Afterburn is an upcoming American sci-fi action movie set in a post-apocalyptic world. It’s directed by J. J. Perry and written by Matt Johnson and Nimród Antal.

The story comes from the Red 5 Comics series created by Scott Chitwood, Paul Ens, and Wayne Nichols. The movie takes place ten years after a massive solar flare destroyed much of Earth’s technology.

The film follows Jake, played by Dave Bautista. Jake is an ex-soldier who now works as a treasure hunter. He searches for valuable items that existed before the solar flare, including famous pieces like the Mona Lisa.

Samuel L. Jackson stars as Valentine, a freedom fighter, and Olga Kurylenko also plays a freedom fighter named Drea. Kristofer Hivju is part of the cast as well.

In the second act of Real Women Have Curves: The Musical, opening tonight on Broadway at the James Earl Jones Theatre, the women working in a hot, small, ramshackle California dress factory momentarily break free of inhibition and ageism and the body shame over their various sizes and shapes and, following the lead of the defiant, soon-off-for-college Ana (Tatianna Córdoba), one by one strip down to their underwear and sing the title song. It’s a scene that’s funny, tender, compassionate and so well-performed by the eight women on stage that it earned a mid-show standing ovation the night I was in attendance.

The scene also succinctly and entertainingly presents the humor, pride, tenacity and bravery of a Latino community under constant siege and scrutiny.

On March 18, Korean media outlet News1 reported that Jo Jung Suk will be making a special appearance in Weak Hero Class 2. Netflix has already confirmed the news, although kept the details of his character under the wraps.

“Jo Jung Suk will be making a special appearance in ‘Weak Hero Class 2.’ Please kindly understand that we cannot reveal details about his role or screen time at this moment. More information will be shared later,” a representative said.

The original Ready Or Not writers are also back: Guy Busick and R Christopher Murphy will provide the film’s screenplay while Samara Weaving – the original film’s star – is also returning.
