Matthew McConaughey Has One Condition To Play True Detective's Rust Cohle Again
Image
When the first season of Nic Pizzolatto's "True Detective" debuted on HBO on January 12, 2014, television viewers got swept up in a peculiar, ominous mystery driven by two perfectly paired stars in Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson. The entire run had a rare stylistic cohesiveness due to every episode being written by Pizzolatto and directed by Cary Joji Fukunaga, and it got its hooks in deep by placing an occult, almost Lovecraftian spin on its serial killer narrative.

By the end of that first season, we'd been treated to a spaced-out acting masterclass by McConaughey, whose Louisiana State Detective Rust Cohle would trail off on bizarre monologues where he made...

We Want Filmmaker Chandler Levack to Be Our New Best Friend — Her ‘Mile End Kicks’ Shows Why
Image
I imagined it as a fun icebreaker. “Hey, Chandler, are you perhaps in the market for a new best friend?” was the vision. What came out to filmmaker Chandler Levack during a recent interview was more like, “Do you need a new friend? Because I loved your film, I felt so seen by it,” almost immediately followed by my throat closing up and my eyes welling in a way that was undeniably obvious, even in a tiny Zoom window.

At least my inclination was right: the “Mile End Kicks” filmmaker got what I was saying. “I’m going to cry,” Levack said in her first interview for the film. “That means the world to me. That really, really does.”

It’s only fitting that Levack’s film would stir big emotions in both its maker and its audience. Much like her debut, “I Like Movies,” “Mile End Kicks” is based on her own experiences.

If you're a fan of both shows as most people probably are, Netflix is about to give you the gift of a lifetime. No, True Detective and Yellowstone aren't being added to Netflix (though we can certainly dream). But the streaming service has officially won the bidding...

Netflix Lands Matthew McConaughey, Cole Hauser, Nic Pizzolatto Show in Bidding War (Exclusive)
Image
As August comes to a close, Hollywood has been hit by some heat: A bidding war over a red-hot television project that included several major streamers — and with Netflix coming out on top.

The mysterious and as-yet-untitled project brings together three intriguing names: True Detective creator Nic Pizzolatto, his True Detective season one co-lead Matthew McConaughey and Yellowstone fan favorite Cole Hauser. Skydance Sports is the company behind the project.

Sources say Amazon, Apple and Netflix were on the court for this one, with Netflix winning. The project is considered in development with deals with McConaughey and Hauser to star are being finalized.

Notably absent from the mix was HBO, which has had a rocky relationship with Pizzolatto, who last year openly dissed the network’s fourth season of the anthology crime drama he created. McConaughey, meanwhile, was previously in talks to potentially star in a Yellowstone spinoff series. Creator...

‘Awards Chatter’ Pod: ‘White Lotus’ Star Parker Posey on What It’s Like to Finally Find Herself at the Center of the Cultural Conversation
Image
Parker Posey, the guest on this episode of The Hollywood Reporter’s Awards Chatter podcast, is one of the most admired actresses of her generation. She made her name in American independent films of the 1990s — the Sundance Film Festival was essentially her second home — including 1993’s Dazed and Confused, 1995’s Party Girl and Kicking and Screaming, 1996’s The Daytrippers and 1997’s The House of Yes, as well as a quartet of mockumentaries from Christopher Guest, among them 1996’s Waiting for Guffman and 2000’s Best in Show.

But despite a stunningly prolific output over four decades, never did she find herself more at the center of the cultural conversation than she did earlier this year as a part of the third season of Mike White’s HBO drama series The White Lotus, on which she played Victoria Ratliff, a wealthy self-medicating Southern woman on vacation in Thailand with her financier...

Parker Posey’s funny take on the epic reaction to ‘The White Lotus’: ‘I went viral and then I got a virus’ — and why she still hasn’t watched the show
Image
From the South to Hollywood to Thailand, Parker Posey’s road to an Emmy nomination has been anything but predictable. The actress stars in Season 3 of HBO’s The White Lotus as Victoria Ratliff, a North Carolina matriarch navigating the chaos of a family vacation in Thailand.

Soon after the show aired, Posey made an appearance on the Today Show, where she delighted viewers with her now-iconic Southern accent channeling Victoria’s dramatic flair and lingering drawl on words like “tsunami” and “Buddhism.” The moment unexpectedly took on a life of its own.

“People were like, ‘Oh my God, you're going viral.’” she recalled. But the Internet craze came with a twist.

Jake Gyllenhaal's Sci-Fi Cult Classic With 1 of the Most Confusing Endings of All Time Is Coming to Hulu
Image
Jake Gyllenhaal described Donnie Darko as "a movie about the power of the unconscious, the power of growing up, and what that means." Dark, disturbing and surreal, this psychological thriller is now hailed as one of the all-time best independent films.

Cult classic Donnie Darko joins Hulu's streaming library on Sept. 1. Released in 2001, Richard Kelly's directorial debut failed at the box office but quickly gained a following. It was also ranked second on Empire magazine's 50 greatest independent films. Critics and fans have since dissected the movie's ambiguous ending, something Kelly and lead star Jake Gyllenhaal insisted they retained in the script. Directors Francis Ford Coppola and Ben Stiller were involved early in development, influencing Kelly's vision for the film.

Donnie Darko revolves around its titular character (Gyllenhaal), who evades a freak accident after a night of sleepwalking. He meets Frank, a nightmarish figure in a rabbit costume, who...

The 7 Best Comedy Movies Streaming on Netflix Right Now
Image
The summer movie season is winding down, and one of the year’s biggest comedies has hit theaters. At home, Netflix offers a number of iconic comedies for subscribers to enjoy. With back-to-school classics and modern masterpieces, anyone looking for a laugh can surely find something to enjoy on Netflix this month.

Here are seven of the best comedy movies streaming on Netflix now.

“Dazed and Confused” (Gramercy Pictures) “Dazed and Confused”

Few films evoke high school memories as strongly as “Dazed and Confused,” Richard Linklater’s follow-up to his 1990 feature debut, “Slacker.” The film features a sprawling cast of high schoolers, filled with incoming freshmen, rising seniors and everything in between, as they coalesce on the final day of the school year. The movie may take place in 1970s Texas, featuring hazing rituals and pastimes that may seem alien to today’s current crop of high schoolers, yet the...

The 7 Best New Movies Streaming on Netflix in August
Image
Netflix‘s August film slate includes originals like “My Oxford Year,” “The Thursday Murder Club” and “Fixed.” Those are not the streaming service’s only new additions this month, though. Netflix has also added a diverse batch of existing film classics to its library in August, including the hangout comedy to end all hangout comedies and the movie that finally landed one of Hollywood’s greatest directors his first, long overdue Oscar.

Here are TheWrap’s picks for some of the best movies that have started streaming on Netflix in August.

“Clueless” (Paramount Pictures) “Clueless” (1995)

“Clueless,” director Amy Heckerling’s clever, endlessly quotable adaptation of Jane Austen’s “Emma,” is one of the most beloved comedies of the 1990s for a reason. Set in mid-’90s Southern California, the film features a host of memorable performances — namely, those given by its three female leads, Alicia Silverstone, Stacey Dash and Brittany Murphy.

Matthew McConaughey Lost Titanic Role Due to Southern Drawl
Image
Matthew McConaughey once lost out on a career-defining role in James Cameron’s Titanic, and the reason why has now been revealed. 1997’s Titanic is still a masterpiece over 25 years later, with Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet playing two lovers of different social classes, Jack and Rose, as they are caught in the disaster of the ship’s maiden voyage.

Titanic became a cultural phenomenon, generating $2.264 billion at the worldwide box office and an impressive legacy for DiCaprio and Winslet. However, there were plenty of other actors who were considered for Titanic’s cast. Matthew McConaughey and other A-listers, like Paul Rudd, Ethan Hawke, and Christian Bale, were all rumored for the lead role, but ultimately lost out.

According to Puck, which provides an excerpt from Titanic producer Jon Landau’s memoir The Bigger Picture, Matthew McConaughey lost the lead role in Titanic because he didn’t want to drop his Southern drawl.

Matthew McConaughey Lost Titanic’s Jack Role Over One Very Specific Refusal
Image
Did you know, James Cameron‘s 1997 blockbuster, Titanic, almost starred Matthew McConaughey, until he allegedly lost out on the role of Jack Dawson? Well, turns out, the Interstellar actor was replaced with Leonardo DiCaprio after he refused to drop his Southern accent.

According to a newly revealed excerpt from late producer Jon Landau’s upcoming memoir, McConaughey gave an incredible audition and even won over Kate Winslet with “his presence and charm”, who had already been cast as Rose (via People). But things didn’t go so smoothly with director James Cameron.

When Cameron asked Matthew McConaughey to “try it a different way”, without the accent, the actor reportedly declined, saying, “No. That was pretty good. Thanks.” And just like that, McConaughey came inches close to playing Jack in Titanic, until losing the billion-dollar role over his accent.

Matthew McConaughey’s Forgotten $8 Million Comedy With a ‘Yellowstone’ Star Makes Streaming Move
Image
Matthew McConaughey will always be known for his roles in Interstellar and Dallas Buyers Club, but long before he ever starred in Oscar-winning pictures or epic blockbusters, he made his feature debut in a low-budget comedy that just got a major streaming update. McConaughey stars alongside Cole Hauser (Yellowstone) and Milla Jovovich (In the Lost Lands) in Dazed and Confused, the 1993 comedy following the adventures of high school students on their last day of school in May 1976. Dazed and Confused is currently streaming on Peacock, but Netflix has confirmed that the film will begin streaming on the platform at the start of next month, on August 1. It earned strong scores of 94% from critics (Certified Fresh) and 90% from audiences on Rotten Tomatoes, and it grossed $8 million against a $6 million budget.

Netflix’s “C’s Get Degrees” Collection Brings Beloved '90s Hits to Streaming for Back to School [Exclusive]

As the calendar page turns from July to August, the looming dread of the back-to-school season returns. But Netflix has the cure for that seasonal angst in the form of its "C's Get Degrees" collection. Debuting on August 1, the streamer has a collection of classic movies centering around "school days, teenage angst, and first-of-their-kind adventures." The C's Get Degrees collection features a number of classic films, ranging from the 1980s, the 1990s, and the 2000s.

The collection's 1980s fare includes the John Hughes classic Ferris Bueller's Day Off, in which the title character (Matthew Broderick) plays hooky for a day with his neurotic best pal (Alan Ruck) and his girlfriend (Mia Sara) for an adventure across Chicago; another Hughes comedy, Weird Science, about a pair of goofball nerds (Anthony Michael Hall and Ilan Mitchell-Smith) accidentally create the perfect, and all-powerful, woman (Kelly LeBrock) via a scientific experiment; and Amy Heckerling...

Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation (1994) – The Test of Time

Horror franchises can be a goldmine for studios and theaters alike. They are typically on the inexpensive side to make and typically bring back not only a good profit but also more than enough to keep churning them out. Even straight to video franchises like what Hellraiser became or the Puppet Master and other monster collaborations from Full Moon continue to get made and sought out by fans. While we have the newer mainstays like Insidious, The Purge, and the recently up in the air Saw franchises, the classics continue to try and even pass between rights holders to get new looks. One of the most surprising franchises that somehow became a slasher mainstay has two big anniversaries this year. Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III is fun, and I plan to dissect that closer to Thanksgiving for its 35th anniversary but the more controversial Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Next Generation is 30 now,...

Why Stephen Baldwin Was Fired From An Underrated '80s War Movie
Image
There is an art to casting a movie. It's not just about finding the best actor for each role; you also have to consider fit, i.e. how they physically complement their potential fellow castmates on camera and how they relate to them emotionally. Indeed, casting is such an important part of the filmmaking process that it's finally been given its own category at the Academy Awards.

When we talk about films that were, in part, triumphs of great casting, we often focus on movies that brought together a slew of rising or unproven talent. There are obvious examples like Francis Ford Coppola's "The Outsiders," Amy Heckerling's "Fast Times at Ridgemont High," and Richard Linklater's "Dazed and Confused," all of which were films that bolstered or outright launched multiple movie star careers. War films have also been particularly effective over time in introducing exciting new talent, given...

The cult classic movie stars Black as Dewey Finn, a down-on-his-luck rocker who fakes his way into becoming a substitute teacher at a fancy prep school.

But there’s one particular sequence where they needed a Led Zeppelin song, and Black did everything in his power to use it as a soundtrack. So, how did he pull off this almost impossible task?

Ben Affleck's $102M Thriller Sequel Has Dominated Streaming For A Full Month & It Boosts Trilogy Hopes
Image
A third installment in Ben Affleck's action franchise looks more likely as the $102 million sequel remains a streaming hit a full month later. Though Affleck has been acting since he was a child, it wasn't until the 1990s that he became a more widely known presence.

Dazed and Confused (1993) and Mallrats (1995) remain some of his most notable early roles, but it was Good Will Hunting (1997) that really helped his leading-man career take off. After this Oscar-winning Matt Damon collaboration, Affleck found himself regularly appearing in thrillers and more action-heavy films.

The Town (2010) remains one of Affleck's most seminal thrillers, on top of titles like Argo (2014) and Gone Girl (2014). In addition to his work in the Dcu as Batman, the actor also starred in a 2016 film called The Accountant from director Gavin O'Connor, a film that eventually developed a passionate fan following.

‘The Luminous Life’ Review: A Breezy and Melancholic Portrait of a Portuguese Zoomer Looking for Love, Plus a Steady Job

Films about 20-something characters drifting aimlessly through life have a tendency to drift themselves, but that can also be part of their charm. Not every movie needs to be a nail-biter, and not every plot needs to be engineered like a Maserati. Some of the best examples of the genre — Dazed and Confused, Before Sunrise, Frances Ha, Fellini’s I Vitelloni — convey that feeling of endless drifting while remaining altogether captivating. In a sense, the drift becomes the crux of the story.

Nicolau (Francisco Melo), the shy and shaggy protagonist at the heart of Joao Rosas’ debut feature, The Luminous Life (A Vida Luminosa), feels like the quintessential drifter of our time — or at least as such a time exists in a contemporary western European capital. Lovesick and forever looking for gainful employment, he wanders around Lisbon in search of something he can’t quite name or put his hands on.

How Matthew McConaughey’s Forgotten Role In This 1997 Film Showed He Was Destined For More Than Rom-Coms
Image
This 1997 Movie Showed Matthew McConaughey’s Potential To Lead Rom-Coms Early On! (Photo Credit – Prime Video)

Matthew McConaughey never looked like someone who got thrown off easily. His image carried a kind of relaxed smoothness that seemed natural, not performed. That laid-back and effortlessly cool image became a key part of his early screen appeal. It helped him slide into the post-90s romantic comedy space, where he often played the good-looking man-child who floated through relationships with charm but not much growth.

For a stretch of time, those roles fit him well enough as they sold tickets. But the thing is, McConaughey had shown far more range early in his career. He had already explored deeper waters before the run of formulaic romances.

The 1997 Sci-Fi Drama That Showed Matthew McConaughey’s Depth Early On

On the 50th Anniversary of Its Release, ‘Jaws’ Holds a Surprising Message for Us: Movies Should Feel Real
Image
It’s a cornerstone of movie mythology that “Jaws” and “Star Wars” are forever linked, like high-concept popcorn twins. They’re the movies that, taken together, ushered in the blockbuster revolution. As the myth goes, “Jaws” and “Star Wars” launched the permanent takeover of movies by — for lack of a better word — escapism. But today, on the 50th anniversary of the day that “Jaws” was released, I’d like to take the opportunity to de-link those two movies.

In 1977, “Star Wars” was a sci-fi fantasy so potent and square and video-game zappy, one that would prove to be so addictive to so many generations, that it effectively marked the birth of our all-fantasy-all-the-time popular culture. Its influence was beyond profound. It changed the consciousness of people. It made them want to live in other worlds. Obviously, it wasn’t the first movie or work of art to do that. To me,...

'Yellowstone's Cole Hauser Reveals Taylor Sheridan's Original Plans Did Not Include Him Playing Rip Wheeler
Image
Cole Hauser, the actor known for his flawless performance as cowboy Rip Wheeler in Yellowstone, says that he wasn't always supposed to play the iconic character. Hauser's part is so good that it's hard to imagine anybody else playing the role of the loyal hand at the Dutton Ranch, but it turns out this wasn't Sheridan’s original plan.

The actor, also famous for his roles in the films Good Will Hunting and Dazed and Confused, sat down with The Hollywood Reporter to talk about his career. Hauser is currently promoting his work for the Professional Bull Riders league, a gig where he also proved his directorial skills. Naturally, Yellowstone came up as a highlight, and Hauser revealed that Rip was a character developed throughout the years. He talks about meeting co-creator John Linson before Sheridan, and discussing the original role that Linson thought Hauser would be better suited...

Parker Posey Says She Was ‘Gaslit’ by Hollywood Into Thinking She Couldn’t Lead Studio Films
Image
Parker Posey is looking back on how making the leap from indie films to studio movies impacted her career. The iconic actress said during the “Smartless” podcast, as stated by Variety, that after leading independent films such as “Party Girl” and “Dazed and Confused,” she was iced out of bigger studio features. Posey famously auditioned for “Speed” before the part went to Sandra Bullock, and has been open about also losing roles to Julia Roberts.

“I felt like I was called a name, in a way,” Posey said. “My path was more like, ‘Oh, [‘The Daytrippers’ director] Greg Mottola did a reading of his movie that he was trying to get financed,’ and then I introduced him to Liev Schreiber who was in ‘Party Girl,’ and then we do ‘The Daytrippers’ a year later. It was such a community back then. I felt like right when I got exposed, and the whole indie movement got exposed,...

After nearly three decades of pursuing an acting career, Hauser’s odds began getting bigger and better with this lead role. And he is currently looking to become one of the highest-paid TV actors.

While Hauser’s recent money and fame may come from Yellowstone, it should be noted that Hauser comes from a family of show business. And he is best friends with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. So, how much did Hauser earn from his last 30 years in the industry?

Parker Posey Was ‘Gaslit’ Into Thinking She ‘Wasn’t Viable’ For Major Hollywood Movies After the Indie Scene Was ‘Co-opted By the Studio System’: ‘It Was Such a Head Trip’
Image
Parker Posey needed to prove herself all over again when making the jump from indie films to Hollywood productions.

During a recent appearance on the “Smartless” podcast, Posey, who started her career in celebrated independent films like “Party Girl, “Dazed and Confused” and “Basquiat,” was asked if she still considers herself the “indie queen.” Posey answered that once she began being recognized in places “as cool as New York City,” she knew her indie cred was dwindling.

Parker Posey to Receive First Legend Tribute at Gotham TV Awards
Parker Posey
Actress Parker Posey will be the first recipient of the Legend Tribute at the second annual Gotham Television Awards, set for 2 June at Cipriani Wall Street in New York and streamed live on Variety’s YouTube channel. Executive director Jeffrey Sharp said Posey’s “fearless originality and emotional truth” make her “a true television icon” as she moves from her early indie-film acclaim to recent work in The White Lotus season three.

The new tribute category was created to honor performers whose careers have reshaped television culture, and organisers pointed to Posey’s Emmy-nominated turn in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, her breakout film role in Dazed and Confused, and a long list of Christopher Guest collaborations to illustrate her range. Posey joins a roster of special honourees that already includes Sheryl Lee Ralph, who will accept the Sidney Poitier Icon Tribute, and Presumed Innocent creator David E. Kelley, slated for the Visionary Tribute.

Matthew McConaughey’s 37% Rotten Tomatoes Desert Adventure With a ‘Silo’ Star Mines Gold on Streaming Charts
Image
Matthew McConaughey’s first movie in over five years recently debuted at SXSW to a stunning score of 97% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, but one of his older films has been stealing the spotlight lately. McConaughey stars alongside Silo Season 2 veteran Steve Zahn in Sahara, the 2005 desert adventure following a master explorer who hunts for a lost Civil War battleship in the deserts of West Africa. Sahara has been streaming on Paramount+ for a while now, but the film recently surged into the streamer’s top 10, sitting at #9 at the time of writing. In addition to McConaughey and Zahn, Sahara also stars Penélope Cruz, and it earned a low score of 37% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, as well as a 53% rating from audiences on the Popcornmeter.

Sahara came at an interesting time in Matthew McConaughey’s career. He was still nearly 10 years removed from earning his first Academy Award nomination,...

Richard Linklater on ‘Nouvelle Vague,’ Trump Tariffs and the French Government’s Support of Film: “The U.S. Could Use a Little Bit of That”
Image
“If you do it long enough, I always thought you can make one film about making films. This is mine,” said Richard Linklater at the Cannes press conference for his latest film Nouvelle Vague, a love letter to French New Wave.

Nouvelle Vague tells the story of the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s Breathless. Shot on film in the 4:3 aspect ratio and told entirely in French, it stars Guillaume Marbeck as Godard, Zoey Deutch as Godard’s star Jean Seberg, and Aubry Dullin as Jean-Paul Belmondo. Breathless, considered on of seminal film of the Frenc New Wave, follows Michel Poiccard (Jean-Paul Belmondo), a small-time criminal on the run after killing a policeman, and his romantic entanglement with Patricia Franchini (Jean Seberg), an American journalism student in Paris.

“Ten years ago, when we were thinking about this movie, I was thinking they’ll hate that an American director did it,...

Richard Linklater’s ‘Nouvelle Vague’ Receives Electric 10-Minute-Plus Cannes Standing Ovation
Image
It’s hard to imagine an American indie movie more suitable for a Cannes red-carpet premiere than Richard Linklater’s Nouvelle Vague. The maverick director’s black-and-white love letter to the French New Wave premiered to a rapturous response Saturday night inside Cannes’ Palais des Festivals, drawing a 10-minute-plus standing ovation from the black-tie crowd.

“Cinema is magic,” Linklater said as the house lights came up inside the cinema and the applause finally began to dwindle.

The standing ovation even got started before the lights came on as the crowd began clapping in unison for Linklater’s moving tribute to French cinema.

Going into the night, there was considerable anticipation surrounding Linklater’s 23rd feature. The film wasn’t screened for critics in advance of the premiere, as the director was said to prefer that it be seen for the first time on the big screen at its French unveiling.

‘Nouvelle Vague’ Review: Richard Linklater’s ‘Breathless’ Making-Of Biopic Is a Delightful Hang
Image
In 1959, a film critic picked up a camera, threw out the rule book, and forged a new kind of cinema on the streets of Paris. Three decades later, a young slacker pulled off a similar feat in Austin. And on Saturday, an American master world premiered a moving and richly entertaining tribute to the unbridled creativity that propelled both himself and his spiritual mentor to Cannes.

A labor of love and a product of considerable craft, Richard Linklater’s “Nouvelle Vague” — which chronicles the making of Jean-Luc Godard’s “Breathless” — is more than just a valentine to the French New Wave; the film is also a stealth showcase for a filmmaker rarely heralded for his technical sophistication. Indeed, without ever calling too much attention to its more than 300 VFX-shots, Linklater’s latest plays as a hang-out film from a world gone by – a ramble across 1950s Paris that ushers viewers into the nearest café,...

Why Melissa Rauch's Night Court Was Canceled By NBC
Image
Nostalgia is not, inherently, a bad thing. Classic films like Federico Fellini's "L'Avventura," George Lucas' "American Graffiti," and Richard Linklater's "Dazed and Confused" pine away for carefree youth, but they're also careful to acknowledge that the end of the party is on the horizon. Those tales are told from a place of melancholy remove. To quote Thomas Wolfe, "Going back home is a real boneheaded idea."

But in our glutted age of entertainment, where the competition for eyeballs is fierce, the old-school networks believe that one of their programming strengths is viewers' wistfulness for a simpler time, when there were three or four major broadcast entities providing the lion's share of original content. ABC, NBC, CBS and the 1980s party crasher Fox have their work cut out for them in 2025. They're held to conservative content standards and archaic scheduling strictures. Decades ago, they still had an edge because...

Jimmy Page Once Again Being Sued by Original “Dazed and Confused” Songwriter
Image
Jimmy Page is once again facing litigation over Led Zeppelin’s “Dazed and Confused” from original songwriter Jake Holmes.

Holmes, 85, filed the motion for copyright infringement and breach of contract in California court on Monday (May 5th). He alleges that Page, music publisher Warner Chappell, and Sony Pictures violated his rights to “Dazed and Confused” due to the release of new early live recordings of the song, plus its feature in the documentary Becoming Led Zeppelin documentary, without paying or crediting him.

Holmes originally wrote “Dazed and Confused” in 1967, and the singer-songwriter toured as support for Pages’ first band, The Yardbirds, during the decade. The Yardbirds would eventually craft their own version of the song before Page and Led Zeppelin reworked it for their self-titled debut album.

In 2010, Holmes sued Page for copyright infringement after claiming that he wrote to Page requesting credit for the track, but was ignored. The...
