South Beach

Yancy Butler was in a string of shows that had limited runs in the early 1990's. First she was in Mann & Machine then she was in this show, South Beach which was actually the better of the two shows. The characters were interesting, the actors and actress's were very good. The trouble with this show was not the people but the network. As I recall the show didn't air two consecitive weeks at the same time slot or even day. It did get some mention in TV Guide but for Patti D'Abenville and her tattoo's. Glover was a very good bad guy who you weren't really sure was all that bad. It's too bad shows like this one don't come up on A & E or out on DVD. One thing it made South Beach look much better than it was at the time.

This show aired in the summer of 1993 and was perfect summertime entertainment. With a good cast, including John Glover, t should have been renewed for a full season, but was canceled. It's impossible to find now, which is a shame, because I'd like to see it again on dvd or streaming.

This was such a great show for the time period. It was exciting and flashy. I LOVED the character of Kate she is smart, stylish and bad ass. This show had tons of potential but NBC just dumped it. If you can find it to watch anywhere.please do yourself a favor and watch it.
