This is a superb film with some of Govinda's best acting ever, the man is not only a comedian but an excellent dramatic actor as well. This is a very powerful movie which tells of the truth of what happens in real life within the police force. I won't ruin the movie for you, but if you think Govinda is only a comedian do yourself a favour and check out this film.

There is no contender to Govinda when it comes to comedy. However he doesn't do too well in serious roles. His acting style comes across as overacting which doesn't sit well with the audience. If Govinda's career is scanned you'd see his serious movies haven't done too well. So is the case with this movie. Aditya Pancholi was decent second fiddle.

Muqabla Completely Belongs To Govinda As An Honest,Sincere And Angry At The System Lower Level Cop Who Wants To Unleash His Fury But Is Caught In His Uniform And Duty.After Khuddar (1994) I Seriously Consider 'Muqabla'(1993) AsThe Best Acting Work Of Govinda.

Watch Out For The Scene When Govinda Beats A Bunch Of Public Who Beats A Child For Stealing Bread And His Helplessness To Save A Woman Victim From Goons.Govinda Really Excelled In Those Scenes.

If You Think He Is Just A Comic Actor Then You Seriously Need To watch Muqabla (1993) And Khuddar (1994).

After Govinda Its Shakti Kapoor Who Shines Well In A Highly Evil Negative Role Which Is Vastly Contrast From His Comical Role In Raja Babu (1993) Released Same Year.

Overall Its A Very Good Film On Crime,Society And Police And Govinda Gives A Fabulous Performance.

Deepak and Suraj are brothers belonging to a village and whose father has imbibed the high values of honesty and principles in them.

They get jobs of Police hawaldar and traffic hawaldar and are happy in what they get. Khanna is in a transport business but is a devil in reality .All police inspectors bow in front of them. He has two twin brothers whom he uses to do his dastard acts and who always get acquitted because he has dellusioned the society that he only has one brother and he cannot be at two places at same time His same tactics create a wedge between deepak and suraj and suraj thinks that deepak has become corrupt.Atocricies of khanna keep on going and his brother is again acquitted in a cold-blooded murder.

Deepak becomes suscpiscous and is able to exposeS Khanna

Question remains will two brothers be able to together finish Khanna and his gang

Some of the best cinematographic scenes in the movie are when Khanna's brother slits the throat of Custom Officer's wife in front of public and inspite of repeated requests of Suuraj no one comes to testify and collaterally his cap is shown drowning in water (symbolic of defeat of law )

The idea of a movie is to keep you engaged and feel about the characters onscreen, both in terms of their journey and your journey with the characters.

The injustices suffered by the characters in that fictional scheme of things makes you care for those characters as they seem real and somewhere connects to our internal frustrations. Masala mixed a hint of with internal violence of those times , must say surprisingly good movie which makes you angry , sad . Not sure how much things have changed but still these situations and emotions makes sense except the hyperbole of impossible solutions .
