To create the bizarre POV shot through the mouth of one of the characters, an oversized mouth prop was constructed for the camera to fit into from behind. To match the size of the mouth, an oversized tongue depressor was created for actor Larry Drake to use.

They had to cut out a lot of the gore because the MPAA was particularly harsh on them since horror films faced heavy censorship in the early 1990s.
