Based on true story, dealing with an English ex-convict (Pablo Carbonell) is recruited by a criminal organization to establish and control marijuana plantations in southern Spain. The English drug mafia, having their marijuana plantations in Morocco expropriated, decides to send one of their members to southern Spain to secure new land on which to plant the drugs. The envoy, a former legionnaire, fakes a breakdown in his Jaguar and arrives at an Andalusian farmhouse, where he gains the trust of the foreman (Raúl Freire) , also a former legionnaire. The foreman, with the help of his lover (Amparo Muñoz) and her boyfriend, plants the marijuana in the middle of a large cotton field. But when they are about to harvest the crop, the foreman's wife (Lola Flores) , out of scruples of conscience, convinces her husband to set fire to the drug field. Then a brutal vengance takes place.

Victor Barrera directs and writes the script for this dramatic thriller based on the book of the same name by Alfonso Grosso-a finalist for the Planeta Prize-in which the Sevillian writer fictionalized the true story of the 1975 Galindos crime. The movie shows how poverty, deceit, and misery mark life on a Sevillian farm, culminating in a bloody tragedy. Thus, the film reflects the rural conflicts and hidden business practices typical of Andalusia at the time. ¨Los invitados¨ displays a known and popular cast that provide mediocre to terrible interpretations , such as: Raúl Freire, Amparo Muñoz, Pablo Carbonell, Lola Flores, Sonia Martínez and brief appeaarences from Paco Tous and Ana Wagener.

In ¨Los Invitados¨ highlights the colorful and sunny cinematography by expert cameraman José García Galisteo, shot on various locations in Carmona, Sevilla, Andalucía, Ceuta, Ceuta, Spain and London, England, UK. The motion picture was averagely directed by Victor Barrera. He was an actor who worked quite a bit in the seventies, like Vic Winner or Victor Alcázar, in films as Green inferno, Naked Girl Murdered in the Park, Vengeance of the Zombies , El espanto surge de la tumba, El gran amor del Conde Dracula, El espectro del terror, El jorobado de la Morgue. And he directed some films, such as El terrorista(1978), Amar y morir en Sevilla (Don Juan Tenorio) (2001) and Los invitados. The film earned a Goya nomination for Best Original Score, composed by Raúl Alcover.

Based on actual events about "The Galindos Crime", it was a mass murder in which five people were murdered. It took place on July 22, 1975, at the Los Galindos farmhouse, located in the municipality of Paradas, in the province of Seville, Andalusia, Spain. The culprit or culprits were never discovered. However, the film reduces everything to revenge for a drug deal, although it seems that this was not really the motive for the murderous massacre.
