A whacky, free-wheeling story of love, escape, and a series of very weird natural disasters. While made on a very low budget by Angelika Films (the same folks who brought us the Angelika Theatre in NYC) and obviously intended for the art moviehouse crowd, it at least succeeds in being watchable. Judicious, if not always seamless, use of stock footage helps add some bang for the buck to this increasingly surreal tale of two lovers on the run. Technically, the film is somewhat inferior and suffers from mediocre sound and lighting and the filmstock itself is somewhat murky and at times blurry. But the crazy script, decent direction and acting (at least by the principals) make it all bearable.
