30 Biggest Celebrity Feuds of All Time
Image
Hollywood is a pressure cooker of talent, ambition, and, of course, drama. With fame comes competition, and with competition comes some of the biggest celebrity feuds. Whether it’s actors clashing over roles, musicians battling for the top spot on the charts, or directors and stars butting heads over creative differences, the entertainment world is never short of rivalries.

Sometimes it’s a friendly tension, other times it spirals into a full-blown war, especially when egos, relationships, and big money are involved. Some stars simply can’t stand each other, and when their disagreements spill into the public eye, it’s impossible to look away. Fans take sides, social media erupts, and what starts as a private spat often turns into a headline-grabbing saga.

From career battles to personal vendettas, here are the celebrity feuds of all time that had everyone talking!

30. Sean Young and James Woods

Toxic Masculinity Ran More Rampant Than Greed On The Set Of Oliver Stone's Wall Street
Image
In the early 1980s, Sean Young was primed for stardom. She'd turned in two strikingly different supporting performances in Ivan Reitman's "Stripes" and Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner," and possessed an ineffable magnetism that drew you in. In "Stripes," she's Louise Cooper, a Fort Arnold MP who's down for a bit of mischief with Harold Ramis' incorrigible Russell Ziskey. It's a thinly written role, but Young's so darn cute and charming that you'd rather spend time with her than the two leads. As Rachael in "Blade Runner," she looks the glam part of a femme fatale, smashingly so, but as a replicant, we feel for her rather than fear her.

After getting lost in the clutter of David Lynch's "Dune" in 1984, she rebounded with a smoldering performance in Roger Donaldson's deliciously nasty B-thriller "No Way Out." Her limousine sex scene with Kevin Costner was so hot it...

Sean Young Says Her Career Was Derailed by Ridley Scott, Oliver Stone, Warren Beatty and Others
Image
Sean Young, best known for her roles in “Blade Runner” and “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective,” has been acting in Hollywood for over 40 years — and has seen a lot. Once branded as difficult to work with and blacklisted in Hollywood, Young revealed how her career was sabotaged by a handful of “powerful, terribly vindictive men.”

In an interview with the Daily Beast’s Marlow Stern, the actor said she doesn’t think of herself as strong-willed, but she “did make men nervous — and for no particular reason” back in the ’80s. During the interview, Stern mentioned the David Letterman interview where Young flaunted her armpit hair, to which she said Letterman was “intimidated” in the moment.

“David’s much more insecure than he lets on,” Young said. “He’s a great guy, though. In my opinion, it’s much more common for show business to attract very insecure people. People who need approval.

Historias del Loop (2020)
Amazon Prime Video New Releases: April 2020
Historias del Loop (2020)
Welcome to an April that’s sure to be unlike any other. Usually this time of year means getting outdoors in the nice weather or catching a baseball game or two. Obviously 2020 had different plans for us all. Now Amazon Prime has unveiled its new releases for April 2020 to give us an idea of what indoor entertainment options we have.

April 2020 is pretty thin on original series for Amazon Prime. Thankfully two of the few launches are big ones. Sci-fi anthology series Tales from the Loop launches on April 3 and looks to be quite bingeable. Amazon Prime is no stranger to sci-fi anthologies thanks to Philip K. Dick’s Electric Dreams but this one seems to kick it up a notch. Arriving on April 17 is the sixth season of Bosch as well.

April 1 sees the mass availability of a new crop of stock films for the service. Notable options include...

Future Man (2017)
Hulu is out with its list of everything that’s coming and going from the streaming service in April, which should come in handy assuming we’re all still in isolation next month due to coronavirus.

The third and final season of “Future Man,” which stars Josh Hutcherson, Eliza Coupe, and Derek Wilson, will be available on April 3.

That same day, a new episode of Hulu’s monthly episodic anthology “Into the Dark” drops. April’s installment is called “Pooka Lives,” and follows a group of thirty-something friends who create their own Creepypasta about Pooka, but don’t like what they find once the thing goes viral.

Aaron Sorkin Was Pushed to Write a ‘Steamy’ Sexy Scene for Nicole Kidman in ‘Malice’ and Refused
Nicole Kidman at an event for Amores peligrosos (2012)
Aaron Sorkin is currently making the press rounds in promotion of his directorial debut “Molly’s Game,” and he recently shared an eye-opening story with USA Today about one of his earliest gigs as the screenwriter of “Malice.” Sorkin had just come off the success of “A Few Good Men” when he re-teamed with Columbia Pictures to write the Alec Baldwin and Nicole Kidman-starring thriller, which was being directed by Harold Becker (“The Boost,” “Sea of Love”).

According to Sorkin, Becker specifically requested him to write a “steamy” sex scene for Nicole Kidman. “Early on in my career, I wrote a movie that I’m not very proud of at all, it just turned into a mess,” Sorkin said, “Alec Baldwin and Nicole Kidman were in it. The director, very close to the start of photography, decided that we were missing a sex scene between Alec and Nicole.”

Actor Woods Multi-Million Dollar Lawsuit Targets Twitter Users: Slander Case or Attack on Freedom of Speech Online?
James Woods in 'Videodrome.' James Woods in $10 million Twitter lawsuit feud: Crassly vocal right-wing actor goes after two crassly vocal users who attacked him In a letter dated Aug. 21, '15, Twitter attorney Ryan Mrazik ridiculed Surf's Up and Scary Movie 2 actor James Woods, while also highlighting the potentially dangerous precedent of a $10 million lawsuit the 68-year-old entertainer filed against a Twitter user last July. The lawsuit was followed by a subpoena demanding that the social media giant reveal the user's identity and that of another user with whom Woods has been embroiled in the (generally) no-holds-barred Twitterverse. In case you're unfamiliar with the name, these days the two-time Oscar-nominated Woods is best known for a supporting role as a right-wing sociopath in Roland Emmerich's thriller White House Down, starring Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx (as a liberal-minded U.S. president despised by Woods' character), and for his relentless,...

The rise and fall of Hemdale
Hemdale became one of the largest indie studios of the 80s with films like The Terminator and Platoon. Ryan charts its turbulent history...

When Platoon won four Oscars in 1987, it marked not only a new chapter in Oliver Stone's career as a filmmaker, but also the end of a decade-long battle. Since the 1970s, Stone had been struggling to make his harrowing account of the horrors he'd seen firsthand as a soldier in the Vietnam conflict, but was famously turned down by every major studio in Hollywood.

Platoon, and Stone, finally found sanctuary at a small independent studio with a grand-sounding name: the Hemdale Film Corporation. It was Hemdale, and its co-founder John Daly, that had taken a chance on Stone, and when Platoon came out in 1986, the gamble proved to be a shrewd one: its $6m investment was covered by the first month's ticket sales, and the film...

James Woods interview: Leone, Casino, Oliver Stone, Hemdale
Interview Simon Brew 27 Feb 2014 - 05:44

In the first of a two part look back at his career, James Woods chats to us about family, Scorsese, Stone, Leone and more...

It took a false start or two before we finally got James Woods on the end of the phone. There was no agent connecting us, no middle person to monitor what we were saying. Just a problem with a charging cable, oddly enough.

When we were connected, we launched into an interview that was intended to last 15 minutes, but as it turned out, it passed the hour mark. And heck, we got through a lot: so much, that we've split this interview into two articles. A genuinely fascinating man.

Regular readers will know that we've been long-time fans of James Woods - as highlighted by our look at some of his least appreciated films, here - and as our conversation started,...

14 co-stars who really didn't get on
Odd List Simon Brew 27 Sep 2013 - 07:49

It's not always smiles behind the camera, as this list of feuding co-stars proves. I Love Trouble, indeed...

It's a fallacy that everyone gets on together on a movie set. Just as in an everyday office, some people get on better with others. That's as you might expect. But when it comes to film, occasionally a disagreement between two stars becomes oh-so-apparent to pretty much anyone in the stalls at their local Odeon.

This isn't designed by any measure to be a definitive list (yep, Swayze and Jennifer Grey weren't best chums making Dirty Dancing), but here are some of the more interesting examples of where co-stars simply didn't get on...

Nick Nolte & Julia Roberts I Love Trouble

To date, we struggle to think of a more bizarre screen combination for a romantic blockbuster than that of I Love Trouble. The movie, a...

New Release: Taps Blu-ray
The 1981 military drama movie Taps starring Timothy Hutton (The Ghost Writer), George C. Scott (Patton) and hot-young-actors-on-the-scene Sean Penn (Fair Game) and Tom Cruise (Knight and Day) will make its Blu-ray debut on May 3 from 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment.

Tom Cruise (r.), Timothy Hutton (ctr.) and Sean Penn are military cadets in Taps.

Directed by Harold Becker (The Boost) and based on the 1979 novel Father Sky by Devery Freeman, the film tells the story of cadets at a military academy who take extreme measures to insure the future of their institution when its existence is threatened by local condo developers. Said “extreme measures” translate into the kind of military resistance the cadets have been trained for.

The Blu-ray disc will carry a list price of $24.95.

No official announcements have been made regarding bonus features, but here’s a list of what appeared on Fox’s standard DVD from 2006 (which...

The 30 Greatest Drug Scenes of All Time
Ryan Gosling in La otra cara de Nelson (2006)
There are plenty of movies that depict drug use, but often it's just a prop, a shortcut -- a character does drugs on screen because he or she is bad, or out of control, or doomed, or simply not to be trusted. The effects are exaggerated, the consequences over the top or unrealistic. And so we felt driven to make this list, to sort through countless films to find drug scenes, some famous, some not, that have a ring of authenticity to them. The 30 scenes we picked are funny, sad, outrageous and sometimes awful, and they're certainly not all depictions of drug use as fun, but we feel pretty certain of their legit greatness. In other words? No "Reefer Madness" here.

Sean Young Withdraws Diary From Sale
Taken April 2023
Sean Young has been forced to withdraw her diary from an online auction - because it contains intimate details about fellow actor James Woods. Sean, 42, is selling personal objects on her official website seanyoung.com. A source told Britain's OK! magazine that the star removed the journal after legal considerations came into play. According to some of those who have read her memoirs, Sean describes Woods, who later accused the stunner of stalking, as "never seeming that attractive." Other items up for sale are her baby blanket, scripts from No Way Out and The Boost, the film where she met Woods.
