"The Fall of Icarus" mural was painted in Venice, California in 1978 and managed to survive for about ten years before it was "tagged" by graffiti (over-painted) and was subsequently destroyed.
The St. Elmo Village art center was established in 1969 and as of 2022 is still in operation.

Thomas Alva Edison was not, as erroneously stated by one artist in the film, named Tomas Alvarez nor born in Mexico, nor were either of his parents Mexican or of Hispanic derivation -- they were of Dutch extraction.
