- Gideon: Can you keep a secret?
- Abbie Grainger: Yeah.
- Gideon: Well, uh, I'm an angel. A Christmas angel.
- Abbie Grainger: Oh, no, you're not, 'cause my dad told me you can't see angels. They're invisible.
- Gideon: Well, they're invisible sometimes, but sometimes they have to show up.
- Abbie Grainger: So, what's your name then?
- Gideon: Gideon.
- Abbie Grainger: Gideon? Was you a good person that died?
- Gideon: Good person? Well, I was a cow hand... out, out west. And one Christmas, a long, long time ago, I was riding along the Snake River, and I heard this little... kid, uh, yelling to somebody, and, uh, so I jumped into the river to save him. Well, I saved him, all right, but I got myself drowned. 'Cause I didn't know how to swim. And, um, after that they, they made me a Christmas angel.
- Abbie Grainger: What do Christmas angels do?
- Gideon: Well, my job is to, every Christmas, have to help one person, that's feeling down, to get into the Christmas spirit.
- Abbie Grainger: One person?
- Gideon: Yeah.
- Abbie Grainger: Could it be my mom? Could you make my mom like Christmas better, Gideon?
- Gideon: Yeah. I think so, if you'll help me.
- Abbie Grainger: Okay.
- Caleb Grainger: Ginny, the police just called. They found the children standing by a roadside, they're fine. They must have been dropped off by the man, before he went in the water the police said.
- Herbie Conklin: Ginny, where do you think you're going?
- Ginny Hanks Grainger: Herbie, I just have to go to the bank, just for two seconds, you can take my register until I get back.
- Herbie Conklin: Me? I am the manager here and you're not going anywhere, we're in the middle of a Christmas rush here.
- Ginny Hanks Grainger: If anyone says another thing about Christmas to me I'm gonna throw something at them and I mean it! Now I'm going to the bank, Herbie.
- Herbie Conklin: Then that's it, you're fired, Ginny.
- Ginny Hanks Grainger: Go jump in the lake, Herbie!
- Ginny Hanks Grainger: [to Cal] Don't get jelly on your jacket.
- Cal Grainger: Abbie got jelly on her jacket.
- Abbie Grainger: I did not, jelly face.
- Cal Grainger: One of these days Abbie, to the moon!
- [Santa's sleigh has just landed on the roof]
- Cal Grainger: Santa Claus?
- Abbie Grainger: [nods] Santa Claus.
- Cal Grainger: Santa Claus is real? No way! He can't be.
- Abbie Grainger: But he is. And don't ever forget, I told you so, Cal.
- Santa Claus: What was your mother's name when she was little?
- Abbie Grainger: Ginny.
- Santa Claus: I mean her last name.
- Abbie Grainger: Oh, Hanks.
- Santa Claus: O'Hanks...? Oh, 'Hanks'.
