Image
Straight out of the Chattanooga premiere, Cineverse and Bloody Disgusting’s throwback slasher We Might Hurt Each Other (formerly Pensive) arrives on our Screambox streaming platform tomorrow!

The bloody Lithuanian teen horror was directed by Jonas Trukanas and stars Gabija Bargailaite (Pilgrims) and calls back to slasher classics like Friday the 13th.

Inspired by local legends, Pensive follows a group of privileged high school classmates. After these classmates destroy a set of life-size wooden statues during a wild graduation party, a mysterious masked killer begins picking the group off one by one.

Gory and glorious, Pensive is a gritty throwback to the 80s and the heyday of slasher cinema. Calling back to Friday the 13th, the filmmakers took what was great about the era and give it a refreshing lift with the infusion of Eastern European folklore. Check out the trailer below.

Other July highlights include The Exorcist writer William Peter Blatty...

15 1980s Horror Movies You May Have Never Heard Of
Every year during the Halloween season, I make a point of searching out at least one horror movie that I've never seen before. This year I started going through some horror movies from the 1980s, and as you might expect, a lot of them look like ridiculous yet entertaining flicks. Since Halloween is coming up, I thought it would be fun to make a list of some of these movies that I came across that I have never heard of before and ones that maybe you haven't seen before either. I included a short synopsis, poster, and trailer for each one. Make sure you watch the trailer because some of them are sure to make you laugh. I love these kinds of films!

Alone In the Dark - 1982

"Preacher likes to set fire to churches, that's his trip. Unfortunately, he does it when there are people inside."

Rex Harrison in Shalimar (1978)
Not many may know Krishna Shah by his name, but his contribution to the Indian cinema will always be etched in gold. He is the man who made the Dharmendra- Zeenat Aman starrer Shalimar (which also marked the Bollywood debut of English actor Rex Harrison), India's first international film. The sad news is that the 75 year old man has now set for heavenly abode on October 13 in Los Angeles. Besides Shalimar, this UCLA and Yale graduate also made Hard Rock Zombies and was also a member of the Director's Branch of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, USA. Shah, who had been keeping ill after suffering a stroke last year, was busy planning a biopic on the late Indira Gandhi. He is survived by his wife and son. Bollywood Hungama offers its whole hearted condolences to the departed soul's family and pray that his soul rest in eternal peace.

Ten 80s Horror Movies About Rock Bands
By Erin Lashley, MoreHorror.com

In the 80s, rock music and horror movies went together like acid washed jeans and feathered hair. The trouble is, even though many horror movies had awesome rock soundtracks, the movies that specifically featured rock musician characters as heroes or villains varied wildly in quality. Although the rock horror movie has mostly gone the way of the 80s, I’m not sure any other type of music will ever have such a successful love affair with horror. I can’t picture people turning up for a movie called Pop Divas of the Apocalypse, or Death by Dubstep, or even Bloody Pit of Techno Bastards. But what do I know? I’m still stuck in the 80s. Here are 10 of the movies that are stuck with me.

Rocktober Blood (1984)

Billy (Tray Loren) is a rock star, and also kind of an a-hole, so nobody is real...

I’m lining up a star cast for Indira biopic: Krishna Shah
London, Dec 1 (Ians) Amid speculation over whether Bollywood actress Madhuri Dixit will accept his offer to play the lead role, Indian-origin filmmaker Krishna Shah has said he is in talks with some major Us and British stars for a biopic on Indira Gandhi.

“I am approaching the project from the (Richard) Attenborough school of casting. There will be many big names from both Bollywood and Hollywood to draw audiences in,” Shah told the Daily Telegraph in comments published Tuesday.

Shah, who last directed the low-budget “Hard Rock Zombies” for the American market in 1985, said he is in talks with acclaimed British actors Albert Finney, Helen Mirren and Emily Watson and Hollywood stars Tom Hanks and Tommy.

Indira Gandhi Biopic Recasts Helen Mirren As The Queen, Taps Tom Hanks For Lbj?
Indira Gandhi
Indira Gandhi, India's first and only female Prime Minister, is getting a much-deserved biopic, and big name actors are being wooed for star-studded cameos. According to The Daily Telegraph, Helen Mirren is in talks to return to the role of Queen Elizabeth II, who she won an Oscar for playing in 2006's "The Queen." Emily Watson, meanwhile, has been cast as former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher. Other expected -- or at least sought-after -- portrayals include Tom Hanks as Lyndon Johnson, Tommy Lee Jones as Richard Nixon and Albert Finney as British actor Peter Ustinov.

The biopic, titled "Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story," will be released in two parts, a la Steven Soderbergh's "Che" films. Both will be directed by Indian filmmaker Krishna Shah, who last helmed a pair of American B-movies called "Hard Rock Zombies" and "American Drive-In" back in 1985. Since then he seems to have primarily...

"Me? Mrs Gandhi? Hang on..." - Madhuri Dixit
At the moment Madhuri Dixit is more bothered with her son's upset tummy than playing Mrs. Gandhi For the last two days we've been hearing about Madhuri playing Mrs Indira Gandhi in a 2-part bio-pic. But Madhuri has not given her consent as yet. Far from it. Speaking from her home in Colorado Madhuri says, "The thing is, Krishna Shah approached me for the role. He's very keen that I do it. He came home, met me and showed me all the research that he had done. I was impressed by his preparation. But nothing has been finalised. We're still in negotiation." The ever-cautious actress was last seen in Yash Raj Films lukewarmly received Aaja Nachle. The director Krishna Shah's enthusiasm is understandable. But so is Madhuri's guardedness. Playing Mrs. Gandhi won't be easy even for an actress of Madhuri Dixit's stature. And we aren't talking about...

Shah for 'Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story'
Bollywood filmmaker Krishna Shah will make "Mother: The Indira Gandhi Story" which is based on a script he's been writing for 23 years.
