Co-stars, lead actress Meg Tilly and veteran actor Hume Cronyn, had both recently just worked on their most previously released picture with actress Glenn Close, on 'The Big Chill' (1983) and 'The World According to Garp' (1982) respectively. All three are Oscar (Academy Award) nominees who have never won [to date, June 2021].

Leonard Maltin gave it 1 1/2 stars, describing it as a "plodding reverse variation on Muertos vivientes (1956) - here everyone exhibits too much emotion." Later, Meg Tilly would actually co-star in a movie called 'Body Snatchers' (1993) - a remake of 'Invasion of the Body Snatchers' (1956, 1978).

The film's lead actress Meg Tilly and the movie's head producer Tim Zinnemann were married between 1983 and 1989. The pair had two children - Emily (b. 1984) and David (b. 1986).

The others are William Grefé's 1974 sci-fi-horror-thriller ''Impulse'' starring William Shatner, director Sondra Locke's 1990 crime-thriller-drama ''Impulse'' starring Theresa Russell and the 2008 erotic thriller "Impulse" starring Willa Ford and Angus Macfadyen.

Director Graham Baker and actors Bill Paxton and Hume Cronyn all have connections with working on major alien movies. Baker later directed 'Alien Nation' (1988), whilst Paxton and Cronyn both later co-starred in 'Aliens' (1986) and 'Cocoon' (1985) respectively. All three pictures were produced by the 20th Century Fox studio and were all made and first released during the mid-late 1980s.
