At the start of the motorcycle chase, Langley emerges from the alley and has to go around a parked red Ford Pinto. A moment later, Torrey's Plymouth emerges from the same alley in close pursuit and the Pinto is gone.

At the beginning when Lou shoots the armed teenager during the apartment raid, the teenager clearly falls over the railing of the fire escape, but in the next shot, he's hanging upside down by his legs on the railing.

When Torrey's car bounces across the railroad tracks during the chase scene, the front left suspension apparently breaks because the wheel is cocked at an odd angle. After the next cut, the wheel is straight again and the car is able to continue the chase.

The cars shown as NYPD police cars are painted solid green. That paint scheme never existed. Until 1973, NYPD police cars had green sides and a white hood, roof, and trunk lid.

Near the beginning of the film when Lou is talking to Helen in the X-ray room, behind Lou as he paces back and forth is a large X-ray view box with eight chest X-rays displayed. Six are shown reversed, the bottom left is displayed in the correct orientation, and the last (bottom right) is too underexposed to determine.

Skid marks are visible on the road during the film's chase scenes, such as in the parking garage, where the skid marks are in plain sight.

Obvious dummy for when the Mafioso falls out of the window and lands on the sidewalk.

In the first scene, where Lou arrives in a police car in front of the apartment house, the various vehicles on the street are in different positions, and include different vehicles, when see from the various camera angles that were taken.

When Lou chases after the motorcyclist through a farmer's market, he drives and smashes through many items and vendors. One shot is placed in front of Lou's car, where we momentarily see shadows of the camera and camera rig used to film the sequence.

(at around 55 mins) Immediately after the guy in the brown suit is contacted by the motorcycle cop at LAX, Lou is talking to his boss. During this exchange, just after the solo shot of the boss, the boom mic is visible between the two men's heads at the ceiling line - which moves from right to left before it disappears.
