I like this movie very much because it was the first Erich Kästner moie I saw. Yes, it seems old-fashioned, but this is the wonderful thing about this movie. This is a movie based on a very popular kid's book. The story was slightly changed, because the book was originally written a few decades prior to shooting the film. I've always loved the movie, from the first time I saw it when I was in primary school.

Compared to todays movies it might seem boring, because there are no special effects and nothing happens too fast. However, it has a very nice and entertaining plot, that doesn't get boring. A bunch of kids play the main roles and they act very well. The movie made to sit back in your living room and enjoy.

It's one of the movies that I watch regularly, if there is no good program on TV that night.

Simple plot, average acting, but entertaining in some way, recalling childhood memories.
