Another instance of the Danish folk comedy that was just people doing random stuff in order to do random comedy and we hope we make people laugh. There was a lot of this with not much plot and just a thin red line that barely put a plot together through a lot of ideas that was most likely what the movie was made to be and not much more.
3 constable women are sneaked unto a Danish fleet ship in order to party but they are taken unto the sea doing g a drill and there is no woman allowed on the ship.
This movie barely has a plot as mentioned. It is more a collections of song and jokes with a thin red line for a plot about the girls not being spotted. But surprise, even when they eventually get spotted the movies is still going as it has no real consequences and there are more gags that needs the girl to be seen on the ship. It is a movie with not a lot that matters at all and that works fine as the Danish folk comedy where that was common, but as a movie it just is kind of annoying. It is an excuse to show famous Danish actors, make jokes, show women, drink beer and sing songs before it is supposed to make a real movie.
The movie barely has a glimpse of a real social cometary with the main character Vibsen going against men and fighting the sexism in the military and the fleet. Of course this is hiding behind a breakup so it men's the sexism had been alright if she hadn't been in a breakup? It's hard to say and the overall sexism undertones are of their times no doubt. It is a bit too much here and all the men are going crazy over these 3 women, like chill guys.
Some of the jokes are funny and it is a charming movie overall but it does not have a lot of flesh on its funny bones. I really love how they tried to sneak in Dirch Passer in this movie with the most unhinged cameo that barely affected the plot and is just that, a glorified cameo. The Marvel cinematic universe had nothing on Danish folk comedies. It´s all connected bro.
It is one of those movies that are hard to talk about as it is funny and charming overall but barely what resembles a movie. It is more like a collection of military gags more than anything and for that it is entertaining, but that's about it. The plot is incomprehensible.
