When I was little I watched this show all the time. I don't think that there is a single element that doesn't work. The animation and music are great. The stories are creative and fun. This show is funny and entertaining for pretty much anyone, not just children.

One of the greatest animated masterpieces ever. Perfect for kids, full of jokes. Highly recommend.

I'll never forget the times when that I used to watch Pink Panther every morning during my grade school years and that cartoon was fantastic, it is well written, has good music and the situations with the dog and his owner were hilarious, nowadays what you see in some of the cartoons are crude vulgar humor and I don't think that children deserves to watch shows like that, instead they should show children some of the good old cartoons like this, I think that Pink Panther should come on the Cartoon Network and it give the adults some of those great memories that they once enjoyed.

I didn't enjoy many cartoons as a child, but this one is so clever and stylish. The "stories" (or scenarios) are funny without being too corny. It's hard to think of anything being "clever" without thinking of dialog, but this has no dialog and yet is clever.

Many cartoons, notably the Warner Brothers cartoons, obviously have elements of absurdity and physical impossibility (like objects falling through the air landing on or passing other objects also falling through the air). But in the Pink Panther, the absurd element is more sublime, sometimes almost breathtaking.

Maybe it's partly because, unlike Bugs Bunny and co., whose fast-talking and whirlwind pranks stun and confuse his assailants, the Pink Panther is non-verbal and more subtle. His stunts can range from blunt physical comedy, to smart and suave, to a series of bizarre visual tricks reminiscent of M. C. Escher. Sometimes it is almost the equivalent of a special effect.

This flexibility seems to be tied into the fact that the Pink Panther is not necessarily one fixed character. He lives in different places, and has different habits, interests and projects in the different cartoons. Sometimes there is no story, no explanation for the actions we are seeing. Sometimes it's more "normal" and the Pink Panther seems to be a plausible guy in society.

Also the Henry Mancini soundtrack sets a fabulous mood.

I loved watching The Pink Panther Show as a child, and I still have a lot of nostalgia for it. The animation and stories are quite simple, but this simplicity works. The animation holds up surprisingly well, and the scenarios are funny without being corny and predictable. There is minimal dialogue, which is not a bad thing at all, as the visual gags are consistently hilarious. The theme tune is a classic, even if people haven't seen the show, they know the theme tune. The characters are great, there aren't many, but it is better like that. My favourites are Pink Panther, obviously and the bumbling Inspector Clousseau. Overall, delightful and one of my childhood favourites. 10/10 Bethany Cox

In a time where everything had to have a message to make you feel good about yourself, this cartoon played to the fact you just needed to laugh. Between the Pink Panther cartoons, Tom and Jerry, and Bugs Bunny, you could forget life's troubles for a short time.

It wasn't my favorite TV show for real but can't give it less than 7.

Spun off from the opening titles of the hit movie with Peter Sellers and starting out as a series of theatrical cartoons, The Pink Panther came to TV in 1969 and became a long running cartoon hit for NBC. It ran under a number of titles for seven years until ABC gave the panther another life but it lasted only one season.

What I liked the most about the show were the Pink Panther cartoons. Done completely without dialogue (with a couple of exceptions), the episodes relied on sight gags and visual humor and to me that was one of the keys to the show's success.They were also very funny. There was one character who appeared in almost every episode, a little white man that my brother sometimes referred to as "Thing." Here's one mystery that's probably never been solved. What was the name of the little white guy in the Pink Panther cartoons? There were also a number of supporting segments throughout the show's tun. The two that were my favorites were "The Ant and the Aardvark" and "Misterjaw." To me, "The ant and the Aardvark" was a variation on tom and Jerry and the Road Runner cartoons as the aardvark tried to catch one ant for a meal. John Byner showed his versatility as a voice-over artist by portraying both characters. As for "Misterjaw", which capitalized on the success of the movie "Jaws", Arte Johnson, using pretty much the same voice as the military character on "Laugh-IN" was outstanding as the title character. His sidekick, Catfish was voiced by the same guy who voiced "Top Cat" in the 60s, Arnold Stang.

I also remember "The Inspector", a pint-sized version of Seller's Clouseau character. Pat Harrington Jr. did well as the inspector and it showed his ability to handle the French accent.

Later in the run, NBC made history when it expanded The Pink Panther to 90 minutes. Although this version wasn't a success, it started a trend for longer cartoon shows when ABC expanded Scooby-Doo to two hours and CBS expanded "The Bugs Bunny/Road Runner Hour to 90 minutes.

The one constant that went through each of the Pink Panther cartoons was the theme composed by Henry Mancini. It added a jazzier touch to the show's soundtrack. I had a lot of memories of watching The Pink Panther on Saturday mornings and it got me, like many other fans to "Think Pink."

We all gathered around the tv to watch this show in the early 70's when I was a little kid. Pink Panther, The Ant and the Aardvark, Mr. Jaws, Tijuana Toads ( Pancho and El Toro) and Texas Toads (Banjo and Fatso) and The Blue Racer and that Ridiculous Krazy Legs Crane.

Then they eventually banned a lot of these cartoons citing racism. Well, we were kids of all races sitting on the floor in my parents living room in front of the TV and watching these cartoons and laughing our heads off together. Go Figure?? As kids we even cracked up over my Father's heavy Spanish accent (from Spain) . I didn't grow up to be a Racist and neither did the kids I watched these cartoons with back then. :o.

Just like Mister Magoo, the Pink Panther is yet another cartoon character who I find I don't like all that much. I certainly don't hate this pink pussycat, but, I find his one-note personality strikes me as being pretty "blah!" most of the time.

And, on top of that - The situations that the Pink Panther was placed into in these cartoons seemed, quite often, to end on an unsatisfactory note. To me, most of these "toons" came across like unfinished stories and that, for the most part, just didn't sit very well with me.

This Pink Panther collection is a 5-disc set containing 124 cartoons in all from the years between 1964-1980.

Most of these animated shorts were directed, and/or produced, by Friz Freleng, who was a notable animator/director for Warner Bros. Studios some years earlier.

These "limited animation" cartoons are somewhat unique in that they contain virtually no dialogue, whatsoever.

It is a classic. Out of definitions or verdicts. Its music, its characters, its great humor are more than virtues but , front to contemporary animations, a sort of happy refuges. A pink panther. A lot of stories. Simple, absurde, deep unrealistic. But so charming. Short - a huge hero. British, strange but ...lovely.

Unlike most cartoon shows of the 60's and 70's, "The Pink Panther Show" actually contains pretty good animation for its time - a plus considering the fact that during the late fifties the Golden Age of cartoons came to a swift halt. Most television producers were more interested in quantity than quality, as such not putting nearly enough effort into making the animation memorable and focusing more on releasing as many episodes as possible (case in point being the Popeye reboot from 1960-1962). It was excusable, however, if the writing made up for this weakness, shows such as "Rocky and Bullwinkle" being remembered more for their writing than their animation, which was rather cheap. The thing about "The Pink Panther Show" is that it actually includes very little in the way of dialogue - as other reviewers have already said, "Silence is golden", referring to how the show consists entirely of action and physical cartoon humor without any talking. A unique show in this regard, and while not the greatest animated series of the period I've seen, very creditable on its own for taking this path.

To start with, the theme song will always be remembered as one of the catchiest tunes in the history of television. Suave and very jazzy, most people have heard this theme at some point in their life, and it is probably because of this tune alone that the show is so well-recognized. Moving on, the premise is simple, and of course the type of setup one could milk for hundreds of episodes - the titular character of the Pink Panther being a clever and tricky cat dealing with a variety of unique situations. He is also the only anthropomorphic animal in the show: the rest of the characters are humans, one man in particular (who lacks coloration due to being black-and-white) being Pink Panther's main opponent. None of them ever talk, so there are no lip-syncing criticisms to made: the series bases its humor entirely upon cartoon slapstick.

And what enjoyable slapstick it is! Similar to the type of slapstick one would find in Looney Toons and other old cartoons, the variety of gags in each six-minute episode are always fun to see and bursting with creativity. Sometimes, some of the jokes occur with Pink Panther being entirely oblivious to their occurrence. His uncolored opponent consistently fights against him, falling into unplanned traps that his pink nemesis didn't even set up. Otherwise, the episodes can and will consist of Pink Panther himself pranking the man on purpose (though unlike Bugs Bunny, he will occasionally be the victim of traps himself). It is all very clever and the fact every second of it is done with accompanying music and sound effects as a sound track shows that one doesn't need to have good dialogue to have fun - something most shows never realize.

Overall, "The Pink Panther Show" is an enjoyable vintage classic, with some worthy enough animation, great music and creativity galore. While not ranking the highest of animation shows, it is also certainly unique by quitting dialogue in favor of action and giving it a different feel. A fun series overall, something for the whole family to enjoy.

I have fond memories of watching this show,and this cat was the coolest ever! Way better than his counterparts Heathcliff and that lazy cat Garfield. This was produced by David DePatie and the great Friz Freleng whom in some of the theatrical shorts directed several of the segments for film and television. Pink had a style that was so unique and the way he carried it by using non-verbal tactics to outwit his opponents was something to see. Especially with those characters he had to put up with and the situations he encountered along the way and prevail it with the greatest of ease. However,there were several theatrical shorts or cartoon shorts made for television that would accompanied The Pink Panther which included,"The Ant And The Aardvark","The Inspector","Hoot-Kloot","The Blue Racer","The Texas Toads","Tijuana Frogs","Misterjaw",and so on. However out of all of them,"The Inspector"(based on the theatrical films of Inspector Clouseau)were absolutely hilarious to boot, as the Inspector tries to captured or chased his man down and the results are hilarious one right after the other voiced to perfection by actor Pat Harrington,Jr.(who was also Scheider on the television series,"One Day At A Time")and also Marvin Miller and sometimes by Mel Blanc and June Foray. The other one was a all time favorite,but incredibly funny,and I do mean downright hilarious as hell,"The Ant And The Aardvark". This was a great cartoon with the Aardvark always getting the end of the stick by chasing the Ant down for a snack and then always in some predicament the Aardvark would get into some situation with several animals and always getting beat up in the process for a square meal and its hilariously funny and these were the cartoons,which by the way were the equivalent of Friz Freleng's own Sylvester and Tweety cartoons that had its audience laughing hard and simply a comedical riot within itself one right after the other. However,stage actor John Byner's dead on impression of comedian Jackie Mason made this work brilliantly. "Hoot-Kloot",was a theatrical and TV short about a dimwitted sheriff and his bright horse getting into some predicament or another. Can you believe that this was based on Rod Steiger's character from "In The Heat Of The Night"?

The other one was based on the successful movie "Jaws",so producer Friz Freleng,along with his business associate David DePatie created a theatrical and also a television short intitled "Misterjaw". Only one theatrical release short was produced but the rest of it was made for television and it was just as funny but at times stale and boring with the mean old shark getting into a funny situation one right after the other. The voice-over for Misterjaw was by Arte Johnson of "Laugh-In" fame,and he was also the other voices for a lot of Freleng-DePatie cartoons. Catch him on Cartoon Network!!!

NOTE:Speaking of "The Pink Panther",this was Friz Freleng's most successful animated cartoon second to Bugs Bunny. The character was based on the original movie "The Pink Panther" which was directed by Blake Edwards,but it was Friz Freleng and his animation department that brought it to life along with the original theme music from composer Henry Mancini,which was also used in segments by composers William Lava,Walter Greene,and Douglas Goodwin. The theatrical shorts and the cartoons made for television ran every Saturday Morning throughout the entire decade of the late-1960's and throughout the 1970's. It was shown on all three major television networks,first it was on CBS,then went to NBC(where The Pink Panther Show ran for 11 years,and it was during his stay at NBC where he had his own two hour cartoon show which was mostly seen on Saturday Mornings and also shown on Saturday evenings as well),and later on over at ABC(where new animated segments were produced for television)where the show came to an end during the late-1970's,but came back to NBC in the mid-1980's where DePatie-Freleng teamed up with Hanna Barbera for a new version titled,"Pink Panther And Sons",which this time around audiences finally got to hear the Pink Panther verbally.

The Pink Panther show was one of the best shows I ever saw in my life. I must have seen it about a ZILLION X's when I was little and I never got bored of it. Even as a teenager I used to watch it and I never got bored of it. It was very well written and had a lot of stuff in it that even I understood as a child. Hopefully this show will come back to TV so that kids of today can see what funny is because I'm not sure if the kids today even know what funny is when they're being exposed to Sponge Bob Square Pants and other positively repulsive shows like that.

Funny thy name is the Pink Panther and everybody knows that's what funny is.

The Pink Panther is such a great cartoon. You may know him for one special feature: silence. I thought it was brilliant that they made this cartoon almost never speak in this series (there are just two exceptions). Like the creators said, many more cartoons talked than moved, but the Pink Panther did nothing but move. That's what makes this cartoon so unique. Another good reason is that without talking, it's kind of peaceful in one way: no talking, no swearing.

This is definitely a great show for anyone, both kids and adults, to watch, since it isn't one of those crude cartoons made nowadays, and is supposedly in a European-American style, which as some of the best types of animation that I know, not Japanese that's infused with violence and vulgarity and insidious artwork. But this is different, being more peaceful and even more funny than what with most of what you see nowadays, like Spongebob and Ed, Edd, Eddy (yes definitely).

I did watch some of the videos and a DVD with excellent episodes (although some were a bit disappointing, preferably if someone had the last laugh against the Pink Panther, but most of the others are still very well done in writing and artwork). Still, if you can find it anywhere in good condition, I highest recommend it!

The pink panther show is brilliant cartoon with great sense of humour. It has great characters, the pink panther - clever, cunning, lucky; just like the little bird and the funny ant. the show follows from other great cartoon shows made in USA from about late 1920s like Disney, warner bros, hanna barbara. the unlucky ones in cartoon are aardvark, the big crane, the little workman, inspector clouseau who are made big fun of. the ingenious stories make them all cult characters. the stories are always good and have fair amount of humour and pitfalls for unlucky characters like aardvark and crane. there is great music and titles both in 1960s show and new show in 1970s. the pink panther character is cool with pink car and is good artist and dancer

I thought that the Pink Panther and other characters were really funny and all had great personalities. The animation in My opinion was crisp, clean, and really clear. Not to mention beautiful! Most of the characters in this movie are hilarious in My opinion. These characters are the funnies and talented ever seen. In fact, The things that goes on in this series' cartoons are in My opinion nuts which that is what makes them hilarious! There are so many to like and laugh at and the silly things they do! If you like the original The Pink Panther animated movie and the original Looney Tunes then I strongly recommend that you watch this show!

I've never gotten the appeal of this show. Why is it so highly rated? It isn't funny or interesting... It's just blah.
