I think that "Bokser" (The Boxer) has retained its relevance and is worth watching today. The plot is about Tolek (Daniel Olbrychski), who, despite having a dazzling sports career, has remained an uncouth small-town brawler. Undisciplined, he causes drunken brawls and rows. After one such incident, he is arrested and disqualified for life. He trains intensively in prison. On his release, he is taken care of by an experienced trainer, Zgoda (Tadeusz Kalinowski). The film shows the struggle of Tolek with his own immaturity in an engaging way. We can see how enthusiasm and hard work, and above all the desire to overcome one's own weaknesses, allow one to achieve a goal accepted by the community. Personally, I'm not a sports fan, but I enjoyed watching the film, especially because of the decent acting and the good portrayal of the realities of the 1960s.
