In an attempt to "liven up" the show, the producers tried to add an evil alien to the cast. It was played by Walter Koenig, wearing Go-Go boots.
Writer Harlan Ellison, unhappy with changes made to his concept for the show, had his credit changed to the pseudonym "Cordwainer Bird."
Some of the background music was taken directly from Strange Paradise (1969), another low budget Canadian production.
Sixteen episodes aired; 2 more were written but never filmed ("God That Died" and "People In The Dark").
The series depended on the promise of cheap but dramatic special effects facilitated by a system called Magicam, developed by Douglas Trumbull. The system was to use studio video cameras synced up with a snorkel camera shooting miniature sets via servos, allowing the actors to move almost freely through vast elaborate vistas. Unfortunately, the system couldn't be worked out, so the production was forced to use small sets with blue drapes, which were keyed out, making the action quite static.
