As the credits given in the beginning, the film is dedicated to the noblest profession of the world - medicine. Directed by Vijay Anand, the film presents a clash between the professional ethics of a doctor and his greed for money. It has been shown through Dr. Anand, played by Dev Anand, who goes to a village to assist the local people. In course of his career, he rises and starts to forget his ethics and even his wife. Story-wise the film is commendable which deals with medical profession which still seems to be relevant in the present day. The story has been told through the relationship between a husband and wife (played by Dev Anand and Mumtaz) which brings the true essence of the film which in every instance looks quite natural.
Some of the songs of the film have turned classics like "Le maine kasam li." Performance wise, I liked Mumtaz better than Dev Anand. She was considered a very hot pair with Rajesh Khanna those days, but she makes a tremendous performance with DEv Anand as well. Dev Anand gets the central role and he looks good in few emotional scenes. But the one to steal the show was Vijay Anand, who kind of overshadows Dev Anand at instances. However, the film is not without flaws. The film is lengthy, contains many songs that hinder the flow, and few sequences like that of Hema Malini gets dragging. But still the film is a classic and I had a nice time watching it.

Nailed It! In every department. Story, plot, subject, acting, songs, direction, screenplay everything.
During the romantic era and coming fighting era, this was huge Risk. Ironically it didn't well on box office but It Remains Classic. Thanks for Vijay, Mumtaj, Anand Sir and SD Burman Da.

Tere Mere Sapne (1971), directed by Vijay Anand, is an engaging and thought-provoking film that blends serious storytelling with an absorbing screenplay, ensuring it never feels slow or tedious. The film subtly addresses societal issues and the moral dilemmas faced by professionals, particularly in the medical field, through the journey of Dr. Anand Kumar (Dev Anand), an idealistic doctor torn between selfless service and materialistic allure. Dev Anand delivers a superb performance, with Vijay Anand, Mumtaz, and Hema Malini adding depth to the narrative. The film's strength also lies in its timeless soundtrack, with Neeraj's lyrics and S. D. Burman's compositions beautifully complementing the storyline-songs like "Jeevan Ki Bagiya Mehkegi" and "Hey Maine Qasam Li" enhance the emotional impact. Vijay Anand's direction ensures a smooth narrative flow, subtly highlighting the commercialization of noble professions while exploring personal integrity and societal expectations. With its compelling performances, soulful music, and meaningful themes, Tere Mere Sapne remains a classic that resonates even today.
A masterpiece from the effervescent Vijay Anand. His mastery over writing, direction and editing are at ample display in this bright film. He could have done away with 2 songs though (the dance number featuring Jayashri T in the first half and the political satire song featuring Vijay Anand in the second half), but nevertheless the film shimmers with academic brilliance, aesthetic treatment and soulful music..
Kudos to VA.
