In "Carne" ( Meat) we find Isabel "Coca" Sarli playing the role of Delicia, a young virginal worker of a meat refrigerating factory. During the film she is raped time after time in the backside of a refrigerator truck by several rude workmates, being rescued a little too late by her boyfriend, the only man capable of seeing her pure soul thru her "delicious meat". A masterpiece of "kitsch".
Just a bit uninteresting.
'Carne' is a sexploitation flick from 1968. It attempts a few filmmaking things visually, but the story is severely lacking. Even at less than 90 minutes, it drags. By the end it is clear to see its intention, though there are many a different way you could've told it and actually produced some entertainment.
The main cast are alright, neither good or bad in my opinion. Isabel Sarli, Víctor Bó - son of director Armando, who had a relationship with Sarli at the time so... yeah... awkward... - and Romualdo Quiroga stand out most, the latter has quite the evil laugh - rather impressive, in fact.
At least it doesn't glorify onscreen events, it just simply sticks with some parts longer than it should and fails to invigorate the plot in any way. A slow watch for me, for sure.
The last film I watched was titled 'Fresh', so if you know your Spanish this is quite the amusing title to watch next - unintentional!

- TriviaIn the film Isabel Sarli has explicit sex scenes with Victor Bo, who was Armando Bo's son. Armando and Isabel were lovers at the time so Victor was her stepson. In interviews, Victor later talked about the difficulty of filming the erotic scenes with his nude step-mother Isabel "Coca" Sarli: "With Coca it was a very particular relationship, because when we had love scenes we both laughed because we were so nervous. But the relationship was friendly, I would tell you, I supported my father all my life and I will support him, and I know that Isabel loved dad very much, but you don't know how my mother loved my father."
